Last Thursday, t
housands filed through the Cathedral Basilica in the Central West End in St. Louis at Musial's six-hour public visitation,

and last Saturday hundreds more attended the service.

  • From reports, hundreds more were waiting at the more prominent of the two Musial statues outside Busch Stadium, where fans reportedly gathered. Next to the statues were reportedly flowers, balloons, teddy bears, helmets, autographed items and a homemade sign that read "Thanks for the memories. You live in our hearts, No. 6."
At his funeral, Musial was reportedly remembered during a funeral and memorial outside Busch Stadium. Inside, St Louis bred broadcaster Bob Costas, reportedly spoke and his voice reportedly cracked with emotion at times, pointed out during a two-hour Mass that in 92 years of life, Stan the Man never let anyone down
"What was the hook with Stan Musial other than the distinctive stance and the role of one of baseball's best hitters?" Costas said. "It seems that all Stan had going for him was more than two decades of sustained excellence as a ballplayer and more than nine decades as a thoroughly decent human being.
"Where is the single person to truthfully say a bad word about him?"
Among those in attendance were baseball Commissioner Bud Selig, former St. Louis standout Albert Pujols and Hall of Famers Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Ozzie Smith, Bruce Sutter, Whitey Herzog and 90-year-old Red Schoendienst, who once roomed with Musial. Joe Torre, a former MVP and manager in St. Louis, and Tony La Russa, who became close with Musial during his 16 seasons managing the Cardinals, sat near the front along with current manager Mike Matheny.

    BLIND DISH

Which up and coming comic is giving serious shade to a St Louis comedian regarding helping the St Louis comic get booked at an up and coming nationally covered sporting event? The shader comic is from the Midwest who lives in Los Angeles and shares a first name with two famous brat pack teen hearthrobs who were popular in the 1980s. The shaded comic hosts a popular weekly comedy show in St Louis who shares the same last name of a soul/blues singer who had a famous "disco" hit in the 1970s . The event involves stars of the "dribble." Who are these two comics and whats the event?

Why was their fight that ensued between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean over a parking space? Why did Rick Ross almost get shot? Why did Cissy Houston tell Oprah that she didnt blame Bobby Brown for Whitneys drug use but threw shade and said that he didnt try to help her at the same time? Why is their so much hoopla over a Destinys Child reunion during Beyonce's performance at Sunday's Super Bowl?  Why did a San Francisco Niners player say that gay people shouldnt be in the lockerooms? And Why is the TV show "Deception" about to get cancelled despite good ratings?

    NATIONAL BITZ

This Monday, all eyes were on Washington DC and

President Barack Obama's second Inauguration. Later

that evening were balls. One of them was the

Commander In Chief's Ball where The Obamas danced

their first dance to Al Green’s classic “Let’s Stay

Together” sang by fellow Chicagoan Jennifer Hudson.

All eyes also were on the gown that First Lady Michelle

Obama wore a ruby-red halter gown  designed by Jason

Wu thhat designed her 2009 gown. She was

accessorised  in velvet and chiffon overlay with a

handmade diamond  gold embellished circular ring and

    Jimmy Choo shoes.

The First Lady also made headlines for her new banged hair do.

New Chicagoan talk show host Steve Harvey recently won New Talk Show Host at Peoples Choice Awards and his new talk show that his taped in Chicago was renewed for second season. He will also host this year's NAACP Image Awards that will air Feb 1 on NBC.

St. Louis native singer Curtis Finch Jr's Chicago audition on this season's "American Idol" aired last week (the auditions were held in July at The United Center) and he performed the inspirational song, "God is Able." and got four YESes from the judges to compete in Hollywood. We will follow Finch on his progress.

Speaking of the Chicago auditions, 10th season finalist, Wheeling, Ill native Haley Reinhart greeted the thousands of hopefuls at the United Center that was seen last week on "American Idol."

In St. Louis, the big entertainment news story was the

passing of St Louis Cardinals legend Stan Musial over

the Martin Luther King Jr weekend. He reportedly died in

his home in Ladue surrounded by family. He was 92. In

memoriam, there was a public viewing of Musial

Thursday where hundreds attended at the Cathedral

Basilica of St Louis. His funeral is Saturday and is

    closed to the public.

This week we feature two Kansas City personalities who did it up with their respective styles. First is news personality Kelly Jones of the Better Kansas City Morning Show who wore a nice business casual pants suit with a black and white tweed jacket and accessories. Here, she's posed with author Terence Porter who wore nifty brown apple cap, a pink sweater with a pink and white scarf and black tie with blue and red stripes. He was being interviewed about his books he wrote. To see the interview go to http://www.kctv5.com/category/243143/better-kansas-city

Why are people making a big deal about Beyonce lip synching the National Anthem at Obamas Inauguration? Why did someone take a video of First Lady Michelle OBama rolling her eyes at Speaker of the House John Boehner while they were having lunch at The Inauguration Lunch and uploaded on Internet? Why did Jennifer Hudson say that American Idol should be cancelled? And Why does it seem that the new trend on network TV is to have a  black character as the lead in TV drama shows?
