Guest commentator Raqelle Wallace gave her WHYz commentary on pop culture again this week.
Why has former Miss U.S.A. , Kenya Moore,
tarnished her legacy for 15 minutes of RHOA fame that does not seem to be
working in her favor? Why are we
surprised that former RHOA cast mate, Kim Zolciak, called her black cast mates
the “N-word”?Why has
comedian, Katt Williams, turned out to be our “Lindsay Lohan” with his antics? Why did it take
so long for Tamar Braxton to step out the shadow of her sister, Toni? Why did we not
know that Tamar Braxton does not bleach her skin, but has a case of vitilago? Why are we
beginning to love Solange Knowles more than her superstar sister? Why must we
throw shade at Beyonce for her 50 million dollar Pepsi deal? Why are mall
shootings becoming the norm these days? Why do we love
Cee-Lo Green’s song, "Mary Did You Know" from the Bible? And Why has Nelly’s
annual Black & White Ball been moved to the St. Louis Science Center ?
The show will also feature sets from local soul vixen Tiffany Elle,
backed by her live band; the ever funky fresh Lamar Harris & Thelonius
Kryptonite collaborating on the tables and mic; individual DJ sets from Nappy
DJ Needles and 18andCounting; Black Spade on the mic; and finally a sound clash
with Needles, Spade, and 18andCounting.
An explosion of creativity and
originality; a traveling art exhibition that infuses various mediums to produce
a one night event that ignites the inner desire for innovation and freshness.
