President
Barack Obama made his sixth appearance on
Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show this week
urging Americans
to continue to "live our lives" regardless of a
suspected al
Qaeda threat that has closed more than a dozen U.S.
embassies.
In his first public comments
about the potential plot,
Obama told "The Tonight Show" host Jay Leno that the
threat was significant.
However,
the president pointed out that the odds
of dying in a terrorist attack were less than dying in a car accident.
"Terrorists depend on the idea that we're going to be
terrorized," Obama added. "We're going to live our lives."
Obama's appearance on the NBC
show came days after the State Department
shuttered more than a dozen U.S.
and
consulates across the Middle East and
North Africa for the remainder
of the week.
That action sprung from intercepted messages
between top al Qaeda leaders who appeared to
be plotting a major attack in or around Yemen
Not
all of the conversation revolved around the most
weighty issues faced by the
commander-in-chief: Obama
joked about his love of broccoli and his recent
birthday,
and he quipped that former Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton had
“that post-administration glow”
when they lunched privately last month.
Asked if his onetime presidential rival was “measuring the
drapes” during the visit, Obama reminded Leno that Clinton
knows her way around
the White House from her tenure as
first lady.
"Keep in mind she's been there,” he said. “She doesn't
have
to measure them."
The Queen of All Media Oprah Winfrey
wigged it out on the September cover her O
magazine by
sporting a massive Afro wig. Weighing in at
approximately 3.5 pounds, Oprah named the wig
"Wind Thang" and took to social media
(Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) to share her
excitement about the
stunning cover image.
But leave it to her BFF to crack jokes.
Gayle King was
on set for the shoot and asked: "Can
someone put on the
soundtrack to The Lion
King?". And Adam Glassman, O magazine's
creative
director, hit the nail on the head when he
exclaimed:
"Your hair looks like
Chaka Khan and Diana Ross combined."
In a Q&A for the
issue,
explained
how he obtained
the enormous hairpiece, which was delivered to the photo
shoot
in Bubble Wrap and a
custom-made, bright pink travel box complete with a
built-in stand.
"It
wasn't easy! I finally decided I'd have to make one myself.
Two days later I
was on the set of "The Voice" talking
to the stylist there, Kim
Kimble [she's also Beyonce's
mane woman]. When I told her about my predicament,
she said she had created a wig I could borrow. Saved me a
good bit of
time!"
Oprah said, "I wish I could say
it was all mine."
 Oprah
told Us Weekly. And the
59-year-old star goes on to say: "My
own hair is shorter,
not quite so spherical,
and a lot lighter. But that
doesn't mean it never gives
me grief.
When it comes to hair, I'm in the same
boat as most
every other woman.
The way we feel about our hair is universal ---
we love
it when it looks great,
we can't stand it when it looks not so great,
and we all
want it to tell the world something about us."
trying to
make peace with her.
A
trip to a tony Zurich
in a
disturbing racial encounter for the billionaire media
mogul —
national
humiliation that forced the
Swiss tourism board to issue a public apology.
Winfrey
said she was in town for Tina Turner’s
wedding last month and stopped in the
posh Trois
Pommes boutique where she asked a clerk to see
a $38,000 Tom Ford
bag behind a glass case.

And in more Oprah newz,  audiences will get to see a
completely different side of Oprah Winfrey in
Lee Daniels' The Butler next weekend in theatres and
Chicago native and Oscar nominated actor ,
Terrence Howard guarantees, but stops short of
promising
anything too scandalous.
The actor, who plays Winfrey's lover in the historical epic,
talks about just how far they
decided to take their love scenes in the film. "In Oprah's
case, less is
always more,"
Howard tells us in our exclusive video. "The idea of
wanting to know what's under the dress
is more appealing than actually
knowing." He argues
that the lack of nudity actually makes the
scenes more
titillating for viewers. "I like the audience
thinking about it, rather
than it being right their
for their instant gratification."
Howard, who caused a stir earlier this year when he
Howard, who caused a stir earlier this year when he
described Winfrey's breasts in detail,
has
more thoughts to share on the media mogul's anatomy.
He vividly describes her
kiss as
 "the softest butterscotch."
In unrelated Terrence newz,  a judge
ordered him to steer clear of his ex-wife Tuesday
after she claimed the
Oscar-nominated actor “sucker punched” and
kicked her
during a nuclear fight in Costa Rica
Howard,
who joined co-stars Oprah Winfrey and
Forest Whitaker for Monday night’s
star-studded New York
premiere of their new
flick “The Butler,” denies the allegations.
A
Los Angeles
an attempted reconciliation turned into recriminations.
Michelle Ghent claimed
in a lengthy declaration that
Howard “sucker punched” her in the face,
“grabbed” her
neck, threw her against a mirror and tried to choke her
three
times during a July 29 argument in a vacation rental
home.
Insiders are saying these accusations of violent
behavior could hurt Howard’s career, which
has several high profile projects over the next
couple months. Along with "The Butler," Howard
will be seen in the Winnie Mandela movie with
Jennifer Hudson, which opens in theatres
September 6th, and he has The Best Man Holiday in
November. “
Holiday” is the sequel to the movie that made Howard a
star, The Best Man. He also has a
possible TV show in the works with FOX. From reports,
friends of the actor supposedly
want him to stay away from his ex-wife because this
could damage his career and his family.

According to reports, Los Angeles Angels slugger Albert Pujols fired
back at former
major leaguer  and WGNU radio personality Jack Clark after he said that Pujols used
performance-enhancing drugs when he played  for the St. Louis Cardinals.
The allegations came
after Major League Baseball suspended 12 players
50 games on
 Monday for their
involvement in the Biogenesis scandal. New York Yankees third
 baseman Alex
Rodriguez appealed his 211-game suspension on Thursday.
Clark, who played for
the Cardinals from 1985-87, said on the radio show that Pujols'
former personal trainer Chris Mihlfeld
told Clark 10 years ago that he "shot him up,
all
that  stuff."
Pujols, who is
currently on the disabled list with a partially torn plantar fascia in his
left
foot, said in the statement that the allegations are "irresponsible and
reckless"
and that he will take legal action against Clark.
Pujols' trainer also
rebuked Clark 's allegations.
Clark, who retired after the 1992 season, is in his first
week of co-hosting an afternoon radio

Much is unknown about the Black Rep's future after losing its Grandel Square home
at the close of the troupe’s 36th year. But one thing’s for certain, according to Black Rep founder
Ron Himes.

“We will have a 37th season,” Himes said.
Himes received an email last Friday night from the Grand Center organization telling him
they’d sold the Grandel, though not to whom. The Black Rep has performed at the renovated
former church in Grand Center near Powell Hall and the Fox Theater for the past 20 years.
The Friday night email is one of few details Himes and Grand Center spokesperson Michelle
Stevens seem to agree on. The dispute begins with whether or not Himes or the Black Rep
board
ever received prior notice.
With the acclaimed troupe now homeless, New Jewish Theater, part of the Jewish

town is a tragedy," she said.
Prior to coming to Grandel in 1991,, The Himes' company was housed at the 23rd Street
Theatre near St Louis Avenue where it began in 1981. Prior to that, the Black Rep
got its start on Washington University;s campus, where Himes attended as a student
with actress Linda Kennedy,  in 1978.
Since other theaters in town have full seasons already scheduled, the most he can hope

This quintet was formed Fall of 2011 by group founder Tonjo in the city of Belleville, Ill.
and has been non-stop since for their drive of being international superstars.
They define their sound as "R&B
pop sound with alternative rock and barbershop quartet
feel to it," which is also the definition of their group name, Blended Emage which is
diverse in age ranges (the youngest is 18, Vahn) and ethnic background.
Although they have gone through some group member changes since its inception, but
throughout they have been steadfast in their musical journey.
They had the opportunity to audition for X Factor when the show came to St Louis as well
as for rapper Fresco Kane for a demo deal. As far as their performance list, they have
sang  throughout St Louis including Union
Station,  Black Pearl, Keiner Plaza,
The Delmar loop... and you will see us on the street corners singing. .in restaurants,  in
grocery

we are is the platform. .."
Music listeners can look
