First Lady Michelle Obama made her fifth and final
appearance as First Lady on Late Show With
David
Letterman on Thursday. Letterman, who is retiring
as host of the CBS
late-night program on
May 20 made light banter about his final show..
“I’m retiring in a few
weeks,” Letterman began.
“No kidding,” Michelle Obama
shot back.
Letterman noted she’d be
stepping down as First Lady in
the not-too-distant future, adding
“you won’t be
retiring.”
‘When I’m running for
president? I heard you — I was
watching you,” Michelle Obama said,
in re a crack
Letterman had previously made on the show.
“It’s something to consider,”
Letterman said gallantly.
But
she thought the two of them should “hang out together”
once Dave leaves Late

Chicago is the center of the universe for football fans as the
first pick in this year's
NFL Draft began Thursday. The Draft
has moved to the Midwest with the promise that the event
would be turned into an even greater spectacle.
Given the massive tent city of "Draft Town" that now
occupies
much of Grant Park, the gorgeous urban green space on the
shores of
Lake Michigan.
The actual draft is actually take place indoors at the
venerable Auditorium Theatre.

Golden, as of press time has yet to be drafted but
Ray has been drafted to the Broncos with the No 23 pick
in the first round despite reports had surfaced that Ray
might need toe surgery and his misdemeanor charge for
possessing marijuana.

The 42 nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were held this
week in Burbank, Calif and three honorees with
ILLI MO ties received awards:
Oak Park, Illinois native Betty White received the Lifetime
Achievement Award,.White was presented her award by
Marie Osmond, Regis Philbin, Tom Bergeron, Charo and
Fred Willard.
Daily Mail reports that White said when she accepted the
award, “I have been in this business for a long time. You
may not notice that, but when I started in…1949 I had no
idea that I would still be around at this point, for one thing.
But that I’d still be privileged enough to still be in this
business, and it is such a privilege.”

Surgery to repair St Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright's left Achilles tendon went
according to plan Thursday morning in St. Louis.
Cardinals general
manager John Mozeliak said Dr. George Paletta
performed the surgery with a team
trainer on hand, leaving little else
to do but sit back and wait. The
right-hander will rest and recover for
six to eight weeks before he can begin a
rehabilitation program aimed at getting
him back on the mound in nine to 12
months.
"Everybody I've
spoken to is expecting him to make a full recovery regardless, but the
fact
that it's his left leg does help him," Mozeliak said. "He's young,
he's healthy and people
usually come back from this and they do well."
Wainwright will wear a
device offering no mobility until he gradually transitions to a cast
and,
eventually, a boot before returning to full strength.
Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright will miss the rest of the
season because of a torn left
Achilles tendon.
Wainwright will have surgery later this week, likely Thursday,
and recovery time is
generally nine to 12 months.
"Unfortunate
news, but not unexpected after what we saw," St. Louis general manager
John Mozeliak said before the Cardinals played the Philadelphia Phillies.
Wainwright was hurt while batting Saturday in Milwaukee. This
is the second major
injury of Wainwright's career. The right-hander missed the
2011 season while recovering
from Tommy John surgery.
ADD: Christian Brothers College named their
new baseball field in honor of long time
Cardinals player and
broadcaster Mike Shannon.
The school announced on Wednesday
that their new
baseball field will be called Mike Shannon
Stadium. Shannon
is a 1957 graduate of
CBC.
The Visionary Awards were held last Sunday at The Sun Theater in Midtown St Louis.
The awards honored seven women in the St
Louis community that contributed to the arts.
The honorres were from LEFT: Thelma Steward, Freida L. Wheaton, Amy Kaiser, Illene Berman,
Shualee Cook, Cecilia Nadal and Kelly Pollock.

THIS WEEK 2006
Last Thursday, I checked
out Hipster Magazine's The Official Phat Farm BEYOND THE GREEN Club Tour party
at the JAzz Loft that was hosted by rap/fashion mogul Russell Simmons with
ATL's DJ Tayrok on the 1s and 2s. I got there about 10:30 p.m. and got siked
about checking this party out(That is me in the upper right hand corner with
hollabackboi in shades. Thanks to Jacob of ST Louis Online for taking the pic).
When I got there, it was
like I was going to a Hollywood premeire. They had a red carpet diplay in the
front of the club, beaming rays of lights and a big ole tub of comp Anhueser
Draft bottled beer right before you enetered the club (The only thing missing
were the paparazzi and the array of onlookers hanging on to see the celebs.
They had the big tall bouncer (who was dressed like Shaq does when he is in
dress clothes and brim hat)who was checking IDs before you eneterd and some of
the First Friday security guys were patting folks down (I managed to escape all
this becasue I know them quite well).
So I got my free beer and
went inside. I went to the front desk ladies to see if my name was on the list
and it wasnt. I didnt sweat it because I didnt mind patronizing this event
becasue it was definitely the atmosphere that turned me on to this and who was
hosting this (IT was only 10 bones to get in). So when I went inside, it was
like the club morphed into a Hollywood nightclub: two go-go female dancers on
pedestals near the dance floor, two colorful spotlights and a projected screen
of commericals on Anheuser Busch products was shown at the back of the club
where the garage door was. They also had male models dressed in black t-shorts
and jeans wearing TV monitors on their persons that were showing the same
commercials. I was very impressed.

THIS WEEK 2007
t do much this week cause
of my getting this fashion show together, but I did manage to get out to
SYGU/Kevin McCoy’s event, SOLE, at Palm House at Tower Grove Park. My
organization Maatology Productiosn was one of the featured groups to pass out
fliers (the other was Last Sunday/Perfection). My crew walked up to the spot
which included Marquita Parker and fashion show models Renaud and Brandon
(PICTURED ABOVE).
We had on all black and we
were about to make an impression, but when we walked on the red carpet outside
the venue, the photographers looked at us as though we were Columbine shooters
cause they didn’t even budge to take our picture. What was up with that?
Anyway, when we got inside, we did our thing passing out fliers for the
Testosocouture event. We got therr about 8ish . By the time the crowd got
therre, it wa s time to go (they were flashing the lights at 11:50). The
hightlight was the SOLE mascot coming to the event and gettin
his party on (I wonder who was in the suit and the suit?LOL?). It was
definitely something surprisingly unexpected.

.Friends, relatives and
colleagues of the late Steve Fossett gathered at Washington University in St.
Louis this week to pay homage to the alumnus and self-made businessman and
adventurer. Fossett, a longtime trustee and booster, and engaged the university
as his mission control in his many attempts to fly nonstop around the world,
alone, in a balloon. Fossett was declared legally dead in February after
disappearing during a one-man airplane flight. He was 63. Last Sept. 3,
multimillionaire adventurer Steve Fossett took off from his friend Barron
Hilton's Flying M Ranch, south of Yerrington, on what was supposed to be a
short pleasure flight. He never came back. A month-long ground and air search
of the remote 20,000-square-mile area by the National Guard and Civil Air
Patrol failed to turn up any sign of Fossett or his small plane. An Illinois
judge declared Mr. Fossett legally dead on Feb. 15. Mr. Fossett is believed to
have left an estate worth more than $10 million.The state of Nevada figures it
incurred a $687,000 search bill, even after Mr. Hilton, the hotel magnate,
voluntarily sent in a $200,000 check to cover some of the costs.Now, a
spokesman for Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons says the state -- facing a fiscal crunch
-- will bill Mr. Fossett's widow for that $687,000.

STL rapper/mogul Nelly has
partnered with Romane Fragrances and is set to release his own Apple Bottoms
scent.The fragrance is "designed to be the perfect compliment to the
lifestyle of the Apple Bottoms woman," celebrating the "beauty and
the curves we see in our core female demographic," said a press release.
The Apple Bottoms by Nelly Eau de Parfum is infused with a burst of citrus and
a subtle pink peony note, and also includes rose and coconut as floral layers.
Also, sandalwood, golden amber, velvet musk, and a soft hint of apple blossoms
creates the heady signature scent that lingers on the skin, the company's
description reads.
The scent will be launched

Correspondence Dinner took place Saturday
at the Washington Hilton Hotel, with 2,000 guests including everyone
from George Clooney, Lindsay Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Anne Curry and Barbara
Walters to of course the Prez and a very chic looking First Lady Michelle
Obama.
Jimmy Kimmel hosted
evening included a jam-packed red carpet that welcomed tons of celebs. The
President began his comedy
routine this year not at the podium but offstage, in a stunt involving a
backstage "open-mic" with Obama tossing out lines such as: "Why
is she [Kim Kardashian] famous anyway?," "I'm like a five on the
'Just for Mens' scale," "I literally have no idea what I'm saying
tonight," and "God forbid we keep Chuck Todd and the cast of Glee
waiting."

FIT BITZ
We are now debuting a segment called FIT BITZ where
women and men (mainly in the ILLI MO area) who are
extremely fit, have fitness model quality and have post their
fitness pics on social media.
This week we feature fitness champ
Valarie Johnson and celebrity fitness
trainer Donta Wade.

This week we feature fashionista/fashion designer Ola who posted this pic on her
Facebook page of one of her pics from a recent photo shoots and she was
working those knee high brown suede Burberry
boots. And for those who know her, knows boots are her
trademark. Her summer ensem is also
worth mentioning: white blouse with black tank and jeans.
Why are media people calling the protesters in Baltimore "thugs" including
Erin Burnett? Why is the media praising that Baltimore mom for slapping around
her son?Why was Geraldo RIvera calling out a protester taunting him and calling him
an anarchist? And Why does it seem as though the police is about to give the
okee doke on the police report regarding Freddie Gray's death
Why does it seem as though the Mayweather-Pacquio fight will end up
being a rematch? Why does it seem as though Russell Wilson's and Ciara's
agents brought them together as a couple? Why does Suge Knight
think Mayweather is going to bail him out of jail? And Why did Mayweather
