NOTE: Overall this event was quite enjoyable and entertaining.  We expected the cast of Nellyville to be there but NO ONE expected Nick Cannon to attend because he wasnt billed to attend.  So that was quite exciting.

 It was also nice to see Leslie McSpadden, Miek Brown's mother in attendance(wearing a stylish white pants suit). During the dinner, she received a standing ovation when Nelly announced his newest scholarship in honor of the Mike Brown Family. She held back tears but was honored. 

A provocative moment occurred was when some protesters in the lobby crashed the party using it to protest Nelly and their feeling he hasn't done enough with the Ferguson situation. Police were called and they soon left. Ali got on the mike during the party section and said that protesters were wrong in doing what they did and that Nelly is helping the problem by doing events such as the ball and handing out scholarships to students.

As far as the fashions, it was slim pickens as far as the gowns. Most of the ladies wore party dresses or the off beige on black trimming dresses. We will have our lists of Best Dressed Females, Males and Couples and a few OH NOs on Thursday Jan 8.

OUT 175--COREY HOLCOMB @AMBASSADOR DEC 20

Comedian Jessie Taylor emceed the show and did his usual side splitting jokes and "joaning" the crowd.

One of the highlights of his opening was his tackling certain songs with hidden meanings such as R&B group Guy's album cut "Piece of My Love" where lead singer Aaron Hall has being rumored of him singing , "Oooh, dumb bitch>" at the opening portion of the song.

The opening act was comedian Lav Luv

Meanwhile backstage Taylor took a pic with some of Corey Holcomb's crew, event promoter Reno(far right) and one of the venue's waitresses. Holcomb was not backstage at this time.

One of the highlights of Luv's set was when he tried bringing ladies on stage to 

demonstrate a sex act. as DJ Kut played, Bed" by J Holiday.

He wanted her to walk up to him sexily,

She was a bit nervous, but was told to sit down. LOL/

This lady was ready as you can see,

A surprise guest was rap artist Murphy Lee who was celebrating his b-day weekend.

He spat a few bars a capella.

Taylor looked on as Lee spat for the crowd that gave a standing O for his rap flow.

Taylor told this guy to stand up so people can see his Cooley High sweater. LOL

Taylor introduced Holcomb onstage as the crowd cheered and stood up for.

Holcomb joked about mostly women and their unrealistic expectations  as "side hoes"

He also went in on women who get abortions and the fetuses that are thrown out in the dumpster.

At one point in his show he told photographers to be sure to use photoshop because he has fallen off physically.

Holcomb also talked about how men can  hit a woman  for control without making her bruise.

Holcomb was bring Holcomb for his hour long set.

Taylor joined Holcomb for a round of playing the dozens with 'Yo Mama" jokes like 
the "Wildin Out" TV show that Holcomb has guest starred on.

Taylor picked on the waitress on the far lower right (in white blouse)  by "coughing" 
inferring that she was sick from being skinny. She took it in stride and kept working. For the most part, Taylor won the Mamma joke round.

NOTE: Holcomb's set was funny but it seemed as though he was mailing it in. Taylor, as always, killed it. Liv Lav was moderately funny but he was good filler for the headliner and Taylor.  Oh,, and ST Louis comedian ST Louis Slim also got in on some of the playing the dozens round with Taylor and Holcomb on the guy with the orange suit.
