THE TOP ILLI MO STORIES THIS WEEK ARE:

The First Lady, Michelle Obama, is set to stop by the Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday, Sept. 28, using her appearance to tout her “Let Girls Learn” and “Reach Higher” initiatives. The former aims to help young girls go to school, while the latter aims to inspire students pursue higher education, providing career opportunities and financial aid.
Obama is no stranger to speaking with Colbert. She has appeared on The Colbert Report twice — both before she became a first lady and after — and spoke with “Stephen Colbert.”

Last Sunday, The 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were handed out and two notable ILLI MOians won awards: St Louis native Jon Hamm for Lead Actor in a Drama Series for "Mad Men", his eighth nomination and first win in the now ended series. The other is Chicago native Bill Murray who won Supporting Actor in a Mini Series or Movie for his role in "Oliver Kitteredge" He did not attend the event because he was in Philadelphia celebrating his son’s wedding.

In other Hamm newz, he has lined up his next job, and the role he's playing bears a striking resemblance to his iconic Mad Men character, Don Draper.

Hamm will be guest-starring on Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants as, ahem, Don Grouper. The character is described as the charismatic executive of the Grouper, Goby & Koi ad agency, whose sharp mind and devastating charm make him irresistible.

In the episode, which is set to air next year, Mr. Krabs turns to Grouper for help as he tries to launch his line of frozen Krabby Patties. In a character sketch supplied by Nickelodeon, Don Grouper wears a slick suit and tie, not unlike Mad Men's ad man.

Last Wednesday FOX TV aired the most anticipated show of the Fall Season,  the Chicago filmed show, Empire's  first episode of its second season. The ratings were the second highest  of its ratings numbers since Season 1. It pulled in a 6.7 (or 16 million viewers) compared to 6.9 rating of its Season 1 finale.
The episode crushed every other program on Wednesday night, and, perhaps most important to the network, among adult viewers under 50. That last number should make EMPIRE  the No. 1 entertainment series of premiere week in the under-50 demo and confirm that last spring’s record ratings run was no fluke.

EMPIRE jumped 71 percent from this spring’s series premiere, which Fox notes is the biggest sophomore increase for any broadcast show since the network’s own HOUSE a decade ago. But while the return of Empire stands as a huge, unqualified victory for the show (and Fox), there was a sliver of good news for the other networks: At least for now, the show’s Nielsen momentum appears to have peaked.
The fact that EMPIRE didn’t grow — at least not in same-day  ratings; it might yet show a gain in DVR-adjusted numbers —doesn’t represent any sort of failure for Fox or the show. The series remains a phenomenon, and an anchor for the

network.

And lets not forget the watch parties that had hundreds of people watching one TV screen so we are sure the number of people who actually watched the episode was probably much more than 16 million.ookie'  As far as the episode itself, it was a lot to swallow with the faux Black Lives Matter concert, Cookie in a monkey cage, the celebrity cameos, the lesbian party and Chris Rock in a miscast role as a eating human flesh eating thug in prison, it lived up to the hype and was quite entertaining.

Kanye West  unveiled the second season of his Yeezy clothing line at a last minute  live New York show recently during New York Fashion Week that was also streamed to 40 movie theaters across the globe, and seven days of round-the-clock preparations had caught up with him.

As West reported, the Yeezy concept is in its early stages, but with its muted color palette, insistent focus on elevating everyday staples like sweatshirts and army jackets, and diverse cast of models, his presentation was from one reporter's opinion " much closer to the way we live now than many of the more established shows that took place during New York Fashion Week. "

The collection was launched in four sets: First a woman

entered the stage wearing tan, almost the same color as her

skin, and she yelled, "First row, fall in. Second row, fall in."

Others models followed, sporting the same color and blond

ponytails.

The next set, which also featured a model yelling orders, featured army green, followed by deeper brown and then black. Most of the pants on the men were loose. There were tighter items on the women, including leggings and bathing suits. And some of the models wore baseball caps that covered their eyes.West appeared, earning loud applause as he walked in between four rows of models.

. And although Yeezy Season 2 event reportedly  irked some

in the industry -- one designer with a show scheduled

for same time described his surprise show as an

unethical Goliath vs. David move -- it's bound to please fans,

because it gave us a new Kanye song. "Fade."

an Auto-Tuned voice, a funky bass line and an old soul

sample (Motown act The Undisputed Truth,), the

tune played over video of people lined up in 1984-like lines.

After the event West reportedly greeted a reporter, and began to talk about the lessons he’s learned in design, his long-awaited new album, and his presidential plans. His words were as provocative as ever, but they were delivered with a striking calm.

Our opinion of his couture is quite drab and we hear a sweater is at least 1,000 dollars to purchase. But, hey, its Ye, so power and influence trumps everything even stealing an up and coming designer's shine who was suppose to be featured when she was bumped by Ye.

Grammy Award winning songstress Chaka Khan was was the first celebrity to be eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars."

Khan, had received low scores for her dances with professional partner Keo Motsepe after she forgot the choreography. She scored 13 out of 30 points for her "cha cha cha" last week and 15 out of 30 points for her foxtrot Monday. Judges' scores and fan votes are used to determine eliminations.
"It's been great fun. I've learned a lot about myself," Khan said Monday in a post-elimination interview.
Khan said she has stage fright, which she controls when she sings by having the first two songs of her set be "hard hitters.

"By the third song I'm acclimated and I'm really actually singing to the people. And so I don't have any time to acclimate here," said Khan, who grew up in the Hyde Park area. "I'm sorry if I let anybody down. I'm most sorry to Keo."
Motsepe tweeted Monday night that "It has been a privilege and an honor to dance with you @chakakhan."
In unrleated Khan newz, Khan is scheduled to perform at Chicago Soulfest in November at the UIC Pavilion.

The video to Nelly’s new single “The Fix” has just been posted on social media.  The song has a featuring by Chicago native singer  Jeremih. The song also includes an interpolation of Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing.”

The video also featured MissJackson his girlfriend and co-star of his BET relaity series "Nellyville."
The single, which was released to radio Aug 14, is the first of his recently created new label RECORDS It’ll be available for download and streaming beginning Aug. 14. The song peaked at #28 on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Singles and #86 on the Hot 100.

Powell has been reportedly working in New York after his college career at Dartmouth, said local p.r. player Sarah Thompson, a friend since grade school.

RIP BITZ.  St Louis native baseball legend Yogi Berra, one of baseball’s greatest catchers and characters, who as a player was a mainstay of 10 Yankees championship teams and as a manager led both the Yankees and the Mets to the World Series — but who may be more widely known as an ungainly but lovable cultural figure, inspiring a cartoon character and issuing a seemingly limitless supply of unwittingly witty epigrams known as Yogi-isms r,  (i.e. "The game aint over til its over")— died on Tuesday. He was 90.
AND

WHYZ at the Emmys...Why was Amy Poehler dressed like Eminem in 8 Mile when her category for Lead Actress in a Comedy was being featured? Why didnt American Horror Story Freakshow win any awards? Why did Jon Hamm crawl on stage to receive his award? And Why was Terrence Howard insisting on giving Taraji P Henson a kiss during their presentation of an award?

OTHEr WHYZ. Why do they have The Pope speaking to Congress? Why do people want Ben Carson to get out of the Presidential race over his opinion about Muslims running for office and not call out Trump for his outlandish comments? Why did that guy who was on stage with Patti Labelle try to strip off his clothes? Why was Chris Rock cast as a thug prison inmate on Empire?  Why did the Volkswagen company cheat on their tests of their vehicles? Why do all  the Kardashians have apps?  Why did Donnie McClurkin respond  No SHADE on Twitter about the inference of his sexuality was referenced on Empire? And why did that soap opera actress Nancy Lee tried to read Viola Davis on twitter for her speech about people of color having an opportunity to win Emmy Awards?

VIEW BITZ--2016 MR COUTURE WINNER CORDARIO WORRELL

BY MA'AT ATKINS

ON AUGUST 25, MAATOLOGY PRODUCTIONS SASHED UP THE WINNER OF THE 2016 MISTA COUTURE CHARITY STYLE CONTEST AT BLUE MARK STUDIOS IN ATLANTA.HE WAS NEW YORK AREA MODEL/ACTOR CORDARIO WORRELL. NOW ALMOST A MONTH INTO HIS TITLE, OUTSTAGN INTERVIEWED THE HANDSOME GENT TO GET MORE IN-DEPTH AND PERSONAL TO GET A BETTER LOOK AT WHO IS CORDARIO.

OS:How did you become involved with Mr Couture contest and why did you want to enter?

CORDARIO:  I became involved with the Mr. Couture contest through the media site "Model Mayhem". An associate in the entertainment industry informed me of the opportunity and I thought it would be a great way to bring awareness to individual creativity/style for aspiring designers/models.

OS:What was your expectations during the contest?

CORDARIO: Truthfully, I didnt know what to expect. I was really just counting on being the best I could be and hoping that it was enough. The intensity was very high seeing that the group didnt know the logistics of the contest until a few hours before the start time. It forced everyone to be on their A game. I'm very proud to have been apart of that group as I gained some new friends; we're all winners in my eyes.

Cordario getting sashed by last year's
 winner Ricodemo
OS:When your name was called what was your first thoughts?

CORDARIO: My first thoughts were "WOW" and "REALLY". It was kind of a surreal moment because the competition was pretty tight! It was a relief also because I was reminded that hard work always pay off if you dont quit.

OS:You have done a lot of other modeling contests in the past..what other titles have you held?

CORDARIO: I've actually only been apart of one other contest where I was crowned the International Model of the Year 2014. John Blassingame of New Day Associates holds this contest annually where it provides an extraordinary platform for rising models to reach new levels in their careers. I have to admit that holding the International crown allowed me to experience moments that I never dreamed of; hopefully it continues through Mr. Couture 2016.

OS:You also do a lot of theater work. When did you start doing stage work?

CORDARIO: I found an interest in theater/drama in high school. My mother always threw me in a lot of activities just to see what I would catch. Activities such as the school choir, stepteam, and all the varieties of sports. "The Color Purple" was actually my first stage play ever; I have to thank my high school drama teacher Mr. Gilchrist as he helped me to take the craft serious. I continued on in college where I have a minor degree in theater arts at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. I was apart of the Drama Team there and we put on many great productions such as "Fences" by August Wilson to Shakespearean themes. Presently, you can catch me performing "Carmen" for the Washington National Opera at the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

Cordario in formal wear.
OS:Do you see yourself more as a model who acts or an actor who models?

CORDARIO: To keep it real; I see myself as an INSPIRATION who uses the gifts that God has given me for His glory and to help others. I feel a persons true joy is only found in the joy he brings to another. Whether I'm performing my music, acting out a script, walking a runway/posing for a camera, or sharing my published book "From the Pit, to the Palace" with someone; its all aimed at changing someones life for the better.

OS:How old are you and where are you from?

CORDARIO: I recently just turned 29 and I'm from Petersburg, VA. Petersburg is a small town about 25 minutes south of Richmond, VA; the population is roughly 25,000. I was raised in a single mothered household; its a hard place to grow up considering crime and poverty, but I wouldn't change it for the world as it made me the man I am today.

OS:What are your hobbies?

CORDARIO: I like doing anything that is exotic and spirit of the moment. It can vary from skydiving to simply reading a good book, however I do love swimming and seeing new places.

OS:What is your motto in life?

CORDARIO: VISION without ACTION is a daydream, ACTION without VISION is a nightmare.

Cordario on the runway.
OS:What are some of your upcoming projects?

CORDARIO:  I will be a part of the major motion picture "Loving" which is in the hands of award winning writer/director Jeff Nichols. I'm also looking forward to creating my first model calendar featuring myself before the year is out. Hopefully the ladies will be excited lol.

OS:.How can someone contact you for booking you?
