OK NOW TO THE BITZ THIS WEEK

All eyez were on comedian Chris Rock and what he would say (or forget to say) during his opening monologue at the 88th Annual Academy Awards that was aired Sunday on ABC and live at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. And in related news, the Oscars drew the lowest viewers in eight years with a 6 point number slide from last year's award show. Some say it was because of the boycott of watching--after Rock's monologue.

But we digress,  back to the monologue, instead of regurgitating what he said here, we would like to do more of a stance of his 15 minute opening. Here's the thing....people were going to talk about what he would say, rather positive or negative, so Rock wasnt going to get out of it without complaint. And as clever as Rock is--he knew that (even mentioning it in his monologue that if he had quit the Oscars were going to go on without him ).

With the whole #OSCARSOWHITE boycott, Rock took advantage by rewriting his monologue a month ago when the hashtag broke the Internet. And what he actually said, to many, he didnt go as far as boycotters wanted him to go regarding roasting the Academy establishment (One vlogger Makael from the Skorpion Show thought Rock shouldve used the platform to be serious about the problem instead of cracking jokes) What he did was, and cleverly so, was to tell jokes as part of the establishment criticizing the protesters mainly that there were other important things to complain about than protesting the lack of color at the Oscars (his joke about blacks dealing with lynchings back in the 1960s rather than complain about not being nominated had the most bite).

But we think people missed what Chris had actually done--yes, it was establishment driven, but he also indirectly told the mainly white audience that it was the actual racism that America has been bred on that has caused the creation of problems such as lynchings and non-inclusion (Who actually had the rope to hang Grandma?)

Could he have went further? Well he did, throughout the show ad naseum. Some worked (ie the taped skits with Whoopi Goldberg, Leslie Jones and Tracy Jones being cast in mainly white films, the black Girl Scouts and going to Compton after the movies to talk to mainly black theatergoers on the white films being nominated. In other words, it was a 3 plus hour version of his variety talk show that was aired on HBO with awards given.

And then, there was Stacy Dash. The black media's new  albatross who was part of Chris Rick's monologue involving her  now infamous "unblack" comments from that FOX interview getting rid of Black History Month and black based award shows. Although her minute on stage  of her being the new Minority Outreach advocate fell flat with the audience, Rock, again was clever in that he used Dash to poke fun at her and satirizing her--and as all saw, the bit backfired on her and has in a way caused career suicide with the Oscar establishment (That whole people-didnt-know-her argument doesnt stick because she was in one of the popular films of the 1990s "Clueless" which was an internationally successful film in the 1990s) After the cringeworthy bit, she immediately had someone film her going on Twitter to attack her performance and her responding to her attackers. Here's our question and its a WORD TO THE WHYZ...Why would she even say yes to being part of the bit? Our answer, twofold--she probably thought the bit would put her back in favor with Hollywood liberals and, well, she wanted more attention to herself. Oh, and to get paid to get humiliated.

Comedian Katt Williams had another meltdown on and off stage in Atlanta recently when he tore in on Kevin Hart saying he was a puppet and that he sacrificed himself sexually for the establishment to be successful. Then soon after that show he was arrested after an incident at pool store with a cashier in Atlanta after one of his tour stops.  And he insists that he and Hart do a battle of physical activities with a $5 million to the winner.

Williams has gone on the deep end for years now but again, has he? It seems to be his shtick
to say controversial things about his peers and then going off on people in stores and subsequently getting arrested. Then soon after he post bail he apologized to Hart on Tigger's radio show.

Williams apologized to fellow comedian/actor Kevin Hart on The Big Tigger Show on V-103 in Atlanta – his first comments to the media since a string of incidents following his headlining performance this past weekend at Philips Arena.
Williams – who arrived at the station unexpectedly – started today’s interview admitting to having “aimed inconsistently” when he accused Big Tigger – a friend he was just partying with at Rick Ross‘s 40th birthday party – of saying that Williams had been “at a pool place buying chemicals for drugs”.
“I do not tolerate betrayals in my friendships,” Williams added. “It can be treacherous out there, so you have to deal with it when it comes.”
He was contrite about those actions with Big Tigger: “I should have never mentioned Kevin Hart’s name, he is the reigning King of Comedy.”
But after the lengthy apology to Hart, Williams then took aim at Chris Rock, who he referred to as “Stepin Fetchit Cool Number One.”
The problem with Rock? “I’ll acknowledge that when I get to it. I’ve already made enough missteps.”

Wow! Katt is going from one successful comic to the other. Do we sense bitterness? Probably. He is in the same game as them as claim he didnt have to sacrifice his manhood to be successful. OK well if thats the case, then why is he boasting about it and then committing self suicide himself with his own behavior. It kinda defeat the purpose.

The trailer for the controversial film "Nina" about the life of the late singer and activist Nina Simone was just released. Since the film was being filmed in 2013, the hoopla on actress Zoe Saldana being cast in the role caused a bitter taste with Nina Simone fans as well as her family. The big question was and is why was Zoe cast when there are countless black actresses who are dark skinned who could have portrayed the role. Zoe, who is of Puerto Rican descent had to get blackened up with body makeup and fitted with a nose prosthetic to make her look more African.
A tweet this week by Saldana, promoting Nina, was met by a furious response from the late singer's twitter feed.
It read: "Please take Nina's name out your mouth. For the rest of your life."
A later tweet, posted on the official Nina Simone account on Wednesday, summed up the depth of feeling in the Simone camp: "Hopefully people begin to understand this is painful. Gut-wrenching, heartbreaking, nauseating, soul-crushing. It shall pass, but for now..."
The renewed criticism comes after a poster and trailer for the film were releasedon Wednesday, ahead of the film's official release on  April 22.
Here's our thing. Hollywood is notorious for casting the wrong people in roles especially of biopics or true stories involving people of color; from Jesus to Cleopatra. The issue is mainly of the blackening of an actresses' skin which has a negative connotation in this country with blackface and how it demeans black people (Remember the 1986 film "Soul Man?". Did  Zoe have the right to have  been cast? Absolutely. Should she have agreed to do it? We think not. But then again, remember when Diana Ross played Billie Holliday and she looked nothing like Billie and there was controversy over it. But after the critical acclaim of her portrayal and her Oscar nomination everything was forgotten. Let's hope Zoe's acting just as Oscar worthy, because if its Razzie bait, she will never be able to live this role down.

What is up with these rumors that actor Trai Byers, who plays the eldest son Andre Lyon in the hot Fox TV show Empire wanted out from the show because of alleged displeasure in acting amongst actors who arent thesbians of the craft and minimal exposure on the show.

Well, Byers went to Instagram  to dispel the rumor that was reported on Page Six in the New York Post recently.

"I don't normally spend my time dispelling rumors, but there is something I'd like to address," Byers wrote in the post. "I have nothing but love and respect for Empire and all who are involved on the show. I have a fabulous relationship with FOX, and hold myself to the highest standards professionally." Byers, who plays Terrence Howard's son Andre on the show, also slammed the claim that he felt the role was "beneath him."
"How could I think of demanding something larger than Andre, where I get to express a man with Bipolar disorder, who is on a spiritual journey to find his identity?" he added.
"I'm so proud, so happy, and so lucky to be a part of this cast," Byers continued. "This show has started my career. See you in Season Three!"
Hmm, interesting. Now our question is why was this rumor even reported in the first place? We are sure there are tensions on any set and that;s nothing new, but when instant celebrity comes to play, things get dicey as far as who is the bonafide star of a show and how people who co star react to it. We think someone from inside the set leaked about this to Page Six and got paid for it.

Model and social medialite Amber Rose had to clap back at Tyrese and rev Run on her sexiness. From an Entertainment Tonight report, in a recent appearance on It's Not You, It's Men, Rose schooled them when they tried to blame her appearance for how often she gets unwanted sexual advances.
"I get sexually assaulted constantly, when I walk down the street," Rose explained on the show. "People think because I'm famous, or I'm cool, and I'm taking pictures that they can just grab my ass or put my hand under my skirt… This is my privacy, like no."
Gibson then trying to excuse her fans' behavior by saying, "If you see a basketball player, and he's known as a basketball player, when you see him, you'll be like, 'Yo, let's go play ball.' I'm just saying, the comfortability that some people find in wanting to touch or grope you. It's an energy that's being sent out there that creates that type of response."
But Rose, would not accept that as an excuse. She immediately shot back, saying, "No, it doesn't, 'cause I'm going to tell you why. If I'm laying down with a man butt-naked and his condom is on, and I say, 'You know what, no, I don't want to do this. I changed my mind.' That means no. That means f**king no. That's it. It doesn't matter how far I take it or what I have on. If I say 'no,' it means no."
Undeterred, the show's hosts refused to back down. "Dress how you want to be addressed," Rev. Run added.
As the audience applauded him, the single mother look appalled. "Oh, boo. No, that's not realistic," Rose quickly said. "Stop it. If I want to wear a short skirt or a tank top, and I'm at the club and I'm having fun with my friends and I'm feeling sexy, I'm not DTF. I'm not even looking at you. I don't want to have sex with you. I didn't come here to have sex. I didn't come here to hook up with nobody. I came out here with my girls and I just feel pretty. I'm not asking for nothing."
Well, all three have a point and its laced in sexism and celebritism and imagery. When one sees a public figure like Amber Rose, overly sexual  is automatically defined. And because of that people will react based on that assuming she's sexually easy (I mean she is the one who starred in a viral video about the After Sex Stroll Walk). Tyrese had a point when he said if people see a basketball player, they automatically think basketball and the determinants from it. Rev Run also has a point saying dress how you want to be addressed. And she has a point saying just because she dresses sexy or is about to have sex with a man and decides not to have sex then no means no. All of this stems from this society's value of women and celebrity. When you are a public figure, the public feels they own you and you are not a real person and believe the imagery they see in the media. And based on that imagery people respond to what they see. Do they see Amber going to church? No. Do they see her babysitting and baking cookies? No. They see her being a sex siren who goes on twitter saying she stuck her finger up Kanye's arse. So again, its all about how your image is to people and how they react.

There is a mystery going on of what happened to a popular fitness trainer in the St Louis area. About a month ago, it was sourced that this trainer got shot right in front of their house by some shooters as they waited for their return to their home after working an event on the West Coast as a bodyguard for a popular national music artist. He also has been linked with one of the members of a female group that was popular in the 1990s. Since the shooting, their social media pages have been deleted and from last update was still recuperating in the hospital in critical condition. There's sources who know what happened but are tight lipped on the matter.

FIT BITZ

This week we feature Grammy Award nominated singer/actor Tyrese who is just as famous for his fitness and dark chiseled frame than his crooning and acting in the Furious Five routine.

.

This week we feature comedian Chris Rock was  extremely dapper in  a crisp white  tux jacket  with a unique front panel. His ensem will be synonmous with his now iconic Oscar monologue.

 WORDZ TO THE WHYZ

OSCARS. Why did Chris Rock add Stacy Dash to his opening monologue? And why did the Stacy Dash bit fall flat? Why were only three of the five nominees for Best Original Song performed? Why was that Oscar scroll or acceptance speeches even considered? Why did Sam Smith claim he may be the only openly gay artist to win an Oscar? And Why are the Oscars so long?

OTHER WHYZ
Why was Mitt Romney chosen to attack Donald Trump's credibility on behalf of the GOP Party? Why did Total Beuaty Magazine mistake Whoopi Goldberg as Oprah on the Oscar red carpet? Why is Kylie Jenner trying to trademark her first name? Why is former GOP candidate Kris Kristie endorsing Donald Trumo for President? And why are most smart phones so easily slippable out of your hands?
