Your show brought tears to my eyes, especially the ending. It was a perfect depiction of the Love childhood friends can share to help their families understand the impact rejection has on every aspect of their lives. Thank you for saying so beautifully what one of my dearest friends in the world could not say to us before he left this earth. LOVE conquers All.

OK NOW TO THE BITZ THIS WEEK

Madonna divided critics and the internet alike for her tribute to the late, great Prince during the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday.

Madonna, who collaborated with the Purple One and allegedly had a brief relationship with him, paid homage by donning a Gucci lavender brocade and paisley suit and ruffled blouse while carrying a cane, and belting Nothing Compares 2 U onstage at the T-Mobile Arena.

She was then joined by another living icon - Stevie Wonder - for an organ-heavy rendition of Purple Rain.
Yet despite her personal and professional connection with the rocker, who tragically died last month aged 57, social media was quick to round on Madonna.

While the audience appeared to enjoy the duet, waving their purple-glowing bracelets in the air, those watching at home were less kind.

Among the angry was rapper Chuck Inglish, who tweeted: 'Madonna just sung purple rain. And it was horrible. 2016 is off the Percs.'

Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade chimed in, tweeting: 'If that's all Prince got..The rest of us are in trouble.'
Several turned pictures of an unamused-looking prince 'throwing eternal shade' in the direction of Madonna.
Twitter user SaVonni Yestanti asked: 'Really? We couldn't do better for Prince?'

Another user @moisturizeds added: 'Maddona is really ruining everything for me, while @TheNFL_Chica2 added: 'Let me be the first to say... she sounds awful'.

And Santiago Restrepo wrote: Dearly Beloved, we r gathered here today to see a horrific flat version of my music.'

Comedian Margaret Cho was kinder to the twice-divorced mother-of-four, writing: 'Crying. Great tribute. @Madonna and #StevieWonder are beautiful. #Prince.'

Madonna herself responded to the criticism on Monday morning, with an Instagram post saying: 'Anyone who wants to do a tribute to Prince is welcome to. Whatever your age Gender or skin Color. If you loved him and he inspired you then show it!!!! I love Prince 4 ever.'

Here is our thing...OK, Madonna may have not been the wisest choice, but maybe she should have been part of an ensem with other artists during his heyday such as Cyndi Lauper (who remade his song When You Were Mine on her album She's So Unusual), Chaka Khan (who remade his song I Feel for you), and of course Morris Day and The Time, But the one to blame for this is the producers of Billboard Magazine. All MAdonna did was be Madonna and to add Stevie Wonder to add more credibility to it.

And speaking of Madonna on Prince. It was reported that the duet that Prince recorded "Love Song" that was on her 1989 album Like A Prayer was supposed to have an accompanying music video but he refused to do one,

Madonna and Prince had a heated feud over the one song they ever recorded together, and the showdown involved one of Madonna’s divorces … according to Prince’s ex-gf Anna Fantastic
Anna  says she was there when Madonna propositioned him to shoot a music video for the track. She claims Madonna tried to play the sympathy card by telling Prince she was in the middle of divorcing Sean Penn  and Prince was not having any parts of it.
Well, after hearing the song, we cant much blame Prince.

Looks like the Tamartians are upset that their leader will no longer be part of The Real.

Tamar Braxton got fired from the Emmy Award nominated talk show this week after it was rumored on various blogsites (including LoveBScott) that reported it before it actually happenned.

She hinted at the firing when Tamar Braxton, took to Instagram with a picture of her sister singer Toni Braxton hugging her and a caption that began, "I love u all but I have been stabbed in the back by someone I stupidly trusted...."

Her posting came amid reports that she had been fired from the talk show, leading some to speculate all was not well among the co-hosts, which also include Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon.
The Fox show, which debuted in 2013, has since confirmed that Braxton will not be returning for the third season.

Braxton is said to be leaving to focus on her music career.
But viewers have noticed that in her final days Braxton did not appear to be willingly leaving her talk-show gig.
One viewer wrote, "LOOK at Tamar. She ain't faking it," in a tweet that included a video of the show's opening with a less-than-enthusiastic Braxton taking the stage with her co-hosts.

MAATOLOGY PRODUCTIONS PRESENTS SNAP HONEY THE STAGEPLAY@DORIE THEATRE AT THE COMPLEX MAY 20-22

__________________________________________________________________________

DIRECTOR'S NOTES

Marcus Ma'at Atkins is an Emmy Award nominated journalist from East St. Louis, Ill. He has over 15 years of writing experience starting his career as a stringer at his alma mater Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville's newspaper, The Alestle, He then moved on to the newspapers Suburban Journals, The St Louis American and currently The West End Word.

In the arts field, his theatrical works were staged at various venues in St Louis, Mo including a reimagined version of Amira Baraka's The Dutchman (2001), the fashion theater show,, "LeDragvaganza " (2002), Manalogue (2003, where the spinoff Snap Honey! derived from one of the characters, Vageena) and the socio musical Lips Unstuck (2013).

Marcus is also the producer of the annual mens style contest Mista Couture Charity Style Contest  since 2007 where gents from across the country compete in various fashion categories for prizes.

Snap Honey was first staged in Spring 2011  at The Space in St Louis (see pics at http://maatology.blogspot.com/2011/03/out-977-scenes-from-snap-honeythe.html ). Various versions were since staged at Missouri History Museum (2012) and Black Pride Festival St Louis (2013). The play tackles various social issues such as tolerance, homophobia, sexual myths and stereotypes and identity as it relates to one's being. Some of the characters are fictional and some are not. The story is fictional with real life moments sprinkled throughout the play. And, it will have moments that will shock you, make you think and definitely will make you laugh out loud.

Snap Honey is more than just a play about a female impersonator telling her story to an audience at her one woman show DRAG WHORE and on a popular talk show  INTROSPECT but its a platform of showing the dimensions of a flawed human being and how similar we all are when it comes to life.

In other words, as Vageena Honey says to talk show host, Dr Welfarus Jones, "Just take it one snap at a time."

Oh, and get ready for audience participation!
