FOTUS Michelle Obama is set to appear on the NBC weight-loss competition in November. Her appearance will be in support of a campaign launched by Partnership for a Healthier America that encourages people to drink more water. BiggestLoser sponsor Brita has backed the campaign.
This will mark Obama's second appearance onBiggest Loser. She first appeared on the show in April 2012, when she took part in a workout at the White House as part of her Let's Move anti-obesity campaign. (PICTURED ABOVE.)
The 15th season of Biggest Loser debuted Tuesday. Among the contestants is American Idol winner Ruben Studdard,

Rumor has it that Oprah Winfrey may be selling the buildings that house her massive production company Harpo Studios.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times (via News One) Harpo Inc. has reportedly retained Eastdil Secured LLC, a 40-plus-year-old top real estate investment company, to weigh various options, including a possible sale or the leasing of part of the four building campus, in order to consolidate operations into one or two buildings.

It was in 1988 that Oprah purchased the 88,000-square-foot complex, even though it was located in a then-desolate neighborhood. Over the years, Winfrey expanded the campus to more than 170,000 square feet of studios and office space combined. And the once-blighted community is now a bustling hub with restaurants, chic loft office spaces, boutique hotels, and even Google Inc. has an office in the area.

And thanks to Harpo, the near West side area’s real estate values have jumped, say property experts.

After Oprah’s talk show ended two years ago, Harpo studio cut back its operations, although its employees still use a few of the buildings to produce content for Winfrey’s OWN network productions.

On top of possibly selling or leasing off of Harpo properties, Oprah is also reportedly planning to sell Chicago home to move into a smaller residence, an unnamed source told Chicago Real Estate Daily.

According to a source for the Sun-Times, Harpo studios will be actively marketed within weeks.

Elle Magazine and Plainfield, Ill native and Emmy award winning actress Melissa McCarthy both insist that they are thrilled with a cover that has the “Bridesmaids” actress bundled up in a cashmere coat, even as critics gripe that the get-up was picked to hide the plus-size star’s curves.
McCarthy was one of four actresses actresses featured on the fashion magazine’s “Women of Hollywood” issue. Unlike McCarthy, fellow cover gals Penelope Cruz, Shailene Woodley and Reese Witherspoon were shown in more revealing attire.
In a “Good Morning America” segment about the furor surrounding the picture, McCarthy’s reps insist the star “loves the cover” and even picked out the coat.
For its part, Elle hails its handiwork, claiming McCarthy’s smokey eyes and femme fatale coiffure were inspired by film noir movies.
“On all of our shoots, our stylists work with the stars to choose pieces they feel good in, and this is no different: Melissa loved this look, and is gorgeous on our cover,” a spokeswoman for Elle said in a statement. “We are thrilled to honor her as one of our Women in Hollywood this year.”
TheWrap has reached out to McCarthy’s team for comment, but they have yet to respond.
In unrelated McCarthy newz, her CBS TV series "Mike N Molly" is returning for its fourth season on Nov 4. The show was pushed forward from its midseason (January) premiere after its replacement show  We Are Men was cancelled this week after just two episodes. The series will be pulled from the schedule immediately and will be replaced by 2 Broke Girls, which will now air at 8:30 p.m., with reruns of The Big Bang Theory taking over the 9 p.m. timeslot (where Mike N Molly will be shown in November).

According to reports, 18 year old Chicago native rap artist Chief Keef turned himself in to Cook County authorities this week after testing positive for marijuana ... and was sentenced to serve 20 days in jail.

Keef -- real name Keith Cozart -- was ordered to undergo random drug testing as part of his probation, stemming from a speeding ticket he got back in May in Chicago, when cops clocked him going 110mph in a 55mph zone.

Keef pled guilty to the ticket, but apparently didn't hold up his end of the no-drugs bargain ... so now he's stuck behind bars. FYI, it's unlikely Keef will serve all 20 days ... but the rapper got out in a few days after being sentenced  due to overcrowding. Calls to his reps weren't returned. (TMZ)

According to a photo posted onto his Instagram page early Tuesday (October 15), Keef revealed when he would start his bid.

"Getting my Self ready To Get Locked Up ! Love Everybody
That Rocks With The So & Da Glo!," he posted onto Instagram at 8:45 AM Tuesday (October 15).

"Walking in Court See y'all a**es Later !," he posted at 9:51 AM. (Chief Keef's Instagram)

Initial reports claimed Keef's current predicament likely had to do with him not meeting a child support requirement.

Chicago native and Grammy Award winning singer/producer R Kelly is making headway with upcoming projects. He will be heard on a collabo with Grammy Award winning singer Lady Gaga's upcoming album ARTPOP (that will be released Nov 11 ) on a song called "Do What U Want"
In addition,  R. Kelly's long awaited Black Panties album has been pushed back again
Rolling Stone reports thenew album, initially slated for a Nov. 11 release, has been delayed until Dec. 10, due to "last-minute tweaks in the mastering process."
Kelly released the first single from the album, My Story featuring rapper 2 Chainz, in July.
"My story is all of this — sex, money, broke, women, love and even church," he said during a listening event in Atlanta with Revolt TV in August. "It's all of those things mixed up into one. I'm not afraid of it. I understand it. It is the nature of life. This gift I have is a beautiful disease, and I'm glad I got it.
Kelly recently described Black Panties to Billboard as "a mixture of 12 Play, TP-2.COM and a little bit of Happy People — just a little bit of Happy People."
Lastly, the  R will have a song from the upcoming

soundtrack to the sequel to the 1999 film, "The Best Man

titled,  The Best Man Holiday  titled, “Christmas I’ll Be

Steppin,” an uptempo holiday groove. The Best Man

Holiday soundtrack is due out  Oct. 29 and the film hits

Koechner plays a  rich, obnoxious L.A. hipster, who start throwing money at the duo to get them to play along with an increasingly twisted and grotesque set of stunts.

Keke added on her role as Chilli, “She’s a superstar so there’s a lot of people that have expectations about the way she looks, the way she acts, the way she talks, and so as an actor — not only me but the other girls as well — really want to give people something they can be proud of.”

In other Palmer newz, she is the newest model

For the third time since 1996, the St. Louis Cardinals claimed a 3-1 lead in the National League Championship Series. The Cardinals are also winless, with a seven-game losing streak, in the three series, including the 2013 NLCS, after reaching that precipice of the World Series.

The Cardinals lost Wednesday to the Dodgers in Game Five at Dodger Stadium, 4 - 6.

The Cardinals are in St Louis to play Game Six tonite (Friday) against The Dodgers and, if necessary Game Seven on Saturday...

If anxiety isn't an issue in the Cardinals' clubhouse yet, facing left-hander Clayton Kershaw might bring it about before first pitch Friday night at 8:07 p.m. ET.

"We've kind of become America's team because everyone wants to see a seventh game," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. "Probably even the fans in St. Louis would like to see a seventh game, so I figure that everybody's for us to win on Friday night."

That is debatable, but there is no arguing the path the Dodgers took to avoid elimination. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez homered twice Wednesday, and left fielder Carl Crawford and catcher A.J. Ellis also went deep.

"Guys weren't ready to lose today," Crawford said.

"Our focus for Game 6 is to score runs for Kershaw and let him do his thing," Gonzalez said. "So if we can give Kershaw some run support, we're pretty confident."

If Game 7 is needed Saturday night, Wainwright (19-9, 2.94), the NL wins leader this season, would start for the Cardinals against rookie left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu (14-8, 3.00). Ryu got the win against Wainwright and shut the Cardinals out in Game 3.
UPDATE: Carlos Beltran and the Cardinals stunned Clayton Kershaw with a four-run third inning, rookie Michael Wacha was again magnificent on the mound and St. Louis advanced to its second World Series in three seasons by roughing up the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-0 in Game 6 of the NL championship series Friday night.
Matt Carpenter sparked St. Louis' big inning with a one-out double on the 11th pitch of his at-bat. Beltran singled him home and the Cardinals quickly removed all the suspense surrounding a team that squandered a 3-1 series lead in the NLCS last fall against San Francisco.
Game 1 of the World Series is Wednesday at the winner of the ALCS between the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. The Cardinals will be trying for the third title since 2006, last winning in 2011.

On Oct 18, St Louis native rock and roll legend Chuck Berry celebrated his 87th b-day.  He is also approaching his 200th performance at the Duck Room inside of Blueberry Hill in University Loop where he performs monthly..

Jackson is the co-anchor, along with Chester Lampkin, of the weekend edition of KSDK's "Today in St. Louis."

According to reports, The St Louis Black Repertory Company has found its new home for its upcoming 37th season in January. It will be staging its plays at the Emerson Performance Center at Harris-Stowe State University.
The company lost its longtime home, the Grandel Theatre, when Grand Center sold that building in August (after being there since  1991 after moving from the 23rd Street

Theatre near St Louis Avenue where they were 10 years prior ). Since then, the troupe has been looking for a place to stage its 37th season.
Its Producing Director is Ron Himes. Himes founded the Black Rep in 1978 on the campus of Washington University.

ILLI MO BITZ

After Kanye went on a Twitter rant following Jimmy Kimmel’s spoof of his BBC interview, the two agreed to talk it out on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live. And in true Kanye form, he went on another epic rant to clarify his last rant.
From a report from Entertainment Weekly:
“We had a big dumb fight on Twitter but he was nice enough to come on tonight,” said Kimmel, who tried to cut the tension by opening with accessories. He asked about Kanye’s outfit (“Ralph”), was he wearing a new grill (“No, they’ve been in my mouth for three years”), before showing a clip of the skit that started it all (even Kanye was smiling!)
“The truth is, the main reason I did that is because I like to see kids curse,” said Kimmel who admitted he didn’t watch the entire BBC interview. Both assured us this wasn’t a publicity stunt.
Niceties aside, it looked for moment that Kimmel was going for the jugular when he told Kanye, “A lot of times I think you bring it on yourself, this kind of misunderstanding about you.” With an intense Kanye staring deep into his soul, Kimmel added, “A lot of people think you’re a jerk.” But then he defended him, sharing with the audience a photo of the rapper posing with Kimmel’s father at a wedding. “I know this guy, he’s not a jerk.”
Here is how Kanye responded, as best as we could follow, considering he basically gave us a verbal draft of his memoirs last night:
On Celebrity:
-”I’m not running for office, I’m just here to make good music, make people feel good…for me, I’m a creative genius and there’s no other way to word it and I know you’re not supposed to say those things about yourself.”
-”It’s bigger than who I am even…It’s about when I was on Earth, what did I do to help?”
-”I had an art background even before I was a musician…I’m more of a messenger than a rapper.”
-”I could care less about any of these cameras, in all honesty. All I care about is my family.”
On Constantly Calling Himself A Genius:
Kimmel: “I think that upsets people, but the truth is, a lot of people think that they are geniuses and nobody says it.”
Kanye: “I’m totally weird and I’m totally honest and I’m totally inappropriate at times.”
On Kim:
“There’s no way that Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame.”
On Comparing Kimmel to Spongebob:
Kimmel: “Do you really think I look like Spongebob?”
Kanye: “I mean, it’s the first thing that came to my mind.”
On His Real Time Twitter Rant (which was written from his L.A. home):
-”They were really fun to me as I was writing it…the only reason why I could do that is because we could speak on a similar level and go back and forth…I just thought that this was amazing you know, just crack media…I do everything I can to break media.”
-”You shoulda saw the second set of tweets!”
On Fashion (after Kimmel presented him with a pair of leather jogging pants for Nori)
“Fashion isn’t always practical, it’s more about a motion, it’s about swag… [expletive]…it’s more about style and stuff.”
On the Difficulties of Breaking into Fashion:
-”I’ve got ideas that mean something, if I could put the proper production around them…I mean there’s no black guy at the end of the runway in Paris.”
-(After a lengthy metaphor about how hard Michael Jackson had to fight to get his videos played on TV), “I still cant break that wall down…everyone kind of just looks at you like you’re crazy…it’s like how can you get a shot?”
On Society:
“It’s not about racism anymore, it’s classism.”
On the point of his BBC interview rant:
-”People are too scared of getting spooked in a way.”
-”Creators get beat up my entire life…I refuse to follow those rules that society has set up and the way that they control people with low self esteem.”
-”The only luxury is time…the time you spend with your family. So this concept of luxury is improper to me.”
On Comparing Himself to Steve Jobs, Jesus:
-“I’m saying these are my heroes, these are people I look up to, this is the type of impact I want to make on this earth.”
-“Exactly what I did in music I want to apply to product, to education.”
On Paparazzi:
-”We bring something of joy to the world…I should be respected and such when I walk on the street.”
-”Never think I’m not from Chicago for one second.”
-”I understand you gotta get your money, and its hard out here… it’s a lack of decency.”

ST Louis bred rap superstar landed an American Music Award nomination this week as they were announced. The rapper  along with country duo Florida Georgia Line is up for  the returning  category Single of the Year  for the platinum selling single, "Cruise." They will compete against "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (the biggest nominees with six) featuring Wanz and "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke featuring Pharrell and T.I. The ceremony will take place at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and will air on ABC on Nov. 24.
In other Nelly newz, his latest CD, "M.O." debuted at No, 14 on Billboards Album 200. His lowest ranked album of his career.
And in other Nelly newz, he had gone on his soapbox on two topics: Government shutdown and Mylie Cyrus.
Nelly believes there should be no taxes until the government goes back to work, .
“I’m trying to campaign, since the government ain’t working, we shouldn’t have to pay taxes,” Nelly told VH1. “Because, you know, paying taxes is supposed to pay for the government, which in turn is not working. So if they’re not working, I shouldn’t have to pay taxes. And me being in the upper echelon of the tax bracket, feel that the money I could be saving over these next couple of days could be very vital to my survival…So y’all keep banging.”
On Miley he said,"Miley's great, she's a great talent.
She's young and ambitious and wants to do it her
way. When you're 20 years old and you've been under
a machine your whole life and been told what to do,
when you get to a certain age you're like, 'I want to
do it my way'… Whatever mistakes she makes she's
gonna have to deal with them, she understands that
… I always ask, 'Who's she hurting?' She's just doing
it her way. We've had a lot of people doing it their
way." He actually makes a totally valid point!!
MileyBird may smoke weed by the ounce and stick
her tongue out more frequently than a dehydrated
puppy dog, but who is she hurting really? Robin
Thicke certainly didn't complain about any chaffing!
Nelly also implied MileyBird might have it harder than
Madonna in some ways! He said: "Madonna, she did
it her way, and she became one of the greatest
female entertainers of all time. Madonna grew up in
the age of no social media, she wasn't under the type
of scrutiny that Miley's under. Yeah, Miley twerked on
stage at 20, but Madonna kissed two girls on stage at
50! Come on man, leave her alone!"

In a new interview with Salon.com, Berwyn, Ill. native comiedic actor  Bob Odenkirk shed a little more light on the forthcoming Breaking Bad spinoff, "Better Call Saul"  starring the colorful and witty lawyer Saul Goodman that he played on the iconic Emmy Award winning series.
“Vince Gilligan and the writers will make the ultimate decision,” Odenkirk said, “But Vince has told me, the last time he talked to me, he said that it will be slightly more dark than it is funny. That’s an interesting balance to strike. And I’m excited.”
Sony and AMC greenlit Better Call Saul in mid-September.The decision all amounts to AMC wanting to prolong their most successful franchise,  Breaking Bad. It was also reported that the spinoff, which will be a pre-quel to Bad and may be dark like its predecessor starring Walter White.
Since the spinoff is a prequel, it could also open the door for various cameos including ones from beloved characters like Gus. Giancarlo Esposito said in a recent interview he would love to return if Gilligan and his team would have him.
A release date for Better Call Saul hasn’t been set yet.
In other Odenkirk newz,he is  getting its cast together in time for its spring air date.Breaking Bad's Bob Odenkirk will be joining the team in a supporting role as a deputy, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Variety

NASSAU, Bahamas (AP) — Comic actor and Chicago native  Craig Robinson was detained Wednesday for drug possession as he tried to leave the Bahamas and was ordered to pay a fine, authorities said.
The actor best known for his role as Darryl Philbin on NBC's The Office was stopped as he tried to board a plane in the capital, Nassau, and head back to the United States. Customs agents found a small amount of marijuana and pills deemed suspicious, said Supt. Stephen Dean of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
"It was nothing major," Dean said.
Robinson, who was in the Bahamas for a comedy show, was taken into custody and appeared before a magistrate, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of drug possession. Prosecutor Ercel Dorsett told the court that Robinson had a half gram of marijuana and 18 ecstasy pills.
The 41-year-old actor, who appeared calm in shorts and a T-shirt and was not accompanied by a lawyer, told the court he brought the drugs from the United States and did not know they were illegal in the Bahamas.
Magistrate Andrew Forbes ordered him to pay a $1,000 fine and directed that he be turned over to authorities and removed from the country. He could have faced four years in prison.
A publicist for Robinson, Nicole Chabot, declined to comment. Blair Berk, a Los Angeles lawyer who represented the actor after a previous drug arrest, also declined comment.
In June 2008, police in Culver City, California, arrested Robinsonon suspicion of possessing MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and methamphetamine. The charges were later dismissed after he completed a diversion program.

Chicago native Harry Lennix can be seen these days playing FBI honcho Harry Cooper in the new NBC action-thriller, “The Blacklist,” that debuted last month to impressive ratings. As a result, the show has become the year's first new show to get a full-season order.
NBC announced on Friday (October 4) afternoon that it has given a back-nine order to the freshman hit "The Blacklist," giving it a 22-episode full-season commitment.
The news was not especially surprising given that the James Spader-fronted drama has solidly won its competitive Monday 10 p.m. time period in both of its two airings. So far, "The Blacklist" is averaging a 3.6 rating among adults 18-49 and 12 million viewers in Live+SD ratings. The premiere added a whopping 4.4 million time-shifting viewers in Live+3 Day DVR numbers.
