ILLI MO SPOTLIGHT

The First Lady, Michelle Obama has done

it for the Vine. FOTUS posted up a six second Vine video for healthy eating  saying “turnip for what?”, before

nodding her head along to DJ Snake and

Lil Jon’s Turn Down for What.

The Vine was reportedly posted as part of

a Q&A organized by the First Lady’s office

on Tuesday afternoon to promote her

“Let’s Move” healthy lifestyle campaign.

The questions were collected from various

social media platforms and seven of them

were answered in Vine and SnappyTV

videos posted to her Twitter account.

We think this was a great idea to use social media to attract a young audience and they live for the vine. So our question is, who's idea was it in the White House to use "Turn Down for What?" We think it had to be Malia. LOL

TWO ILLI MO related films are doing extremely well at the Box Office.
The latest is Springfield, Mo native actor/producer Brad Pitt’s tank tale “Fury” has started rolling with $1.2 million at late night shows  as of Thursday at 2,489 locations in the U.S. for Sony.
From reports Sony’s first numbers give a strong signal that “Fury,” will finish at the top of the box office chart with a $25 million opening from 3,155 locations.
“Fury,” which carries a $68 million price tag, was directed by “End of Watch” helmer David Ayer. It’s opening amid solid critical support with a 76% “fresh” rating on the Rotten Tomatoes aggregator site.

The other film  “Gone Girl,” that was filmed in Cape Giraredeu, Mo, has won back-to-back weekends and shown impressive holding power among audiences based on the same report as above story on "Fury.", It has reportedly garnered nearly $90 million in its first two weeks. Fox’s third weekend of “Gone Girl” and the opening of its animated “The Book of Life” are contenders for the second slot in the $16 million to $18 million range when Box Office reports are released Monday..

Rap superstar Kanye West is on the front cover of the

August issue of GQ Magazine. In the featured story, Ye

  reportedly discusses his perfectionism.

Yeezy, who also filmed a video clip for the magazine,  feels

that everyone should utilize their voice to the best of their

abilities.

“If you’re given a voice, if you’re given an opportunity to have

a voice, you have to take that seriously out of appreciation

for the opportunity given,” he said.

‘Ye then talks about his goals and explains why being perfect

doesn’t satisfy him enough — he wants to go to a higher

level.

“For me, it’s a fight. Most people are just satisfied with, ‘It’s

good.’ Most people are satisfied at like just a 10, or

something,” he explained. “It’s not to just stop at 10. You

know, 10 is ground zero; perfection is ground zero. We need

to take things to a genius level, that’s when you do stuff

that’s perfect, that’s past what’s expected.”

As an example of this, apparently West styled his own GQ

fashion shoot. He also re-tailored his pants to make sure

they fit right for the shoot. At the end of the GQ video, West

compares himself to the great painter Michelangelo.

“Michelangelo decides he wants to sculpt, there could be a

bunch of sculptors that are like, ‘Oh, no, you’re a painter,’” he

says. “But he’s Michelangelo. And I am Kanye West.”

Ye, well, is gonna be Ye-but it seems as though he is starting to become more of a parody of himself with his self-braggadocio-ness.  But its what feeds press and he is, we are sure,. smart enough to know that.

Kansas City is all smiles as The Royals earned a spot to play in the World Series winning Game 4 against the  Baltimore Orioles (Photo by Dilip Vishwanat/Getty Images).  The Royals, who are returning to the World Series after a 29-year absence, topped the Orioles, 2-1, in Game 4 on Wednesday at Kauffman Stadium to complete the AL Championship Series sweep and became the first team to open the postseason with eight straight wins  after winning the AL Wild Card game over the Athletics, sweeping the Angels in the ALDS and sweeping the Orioles in the ALCS.  World Series Game 1 is on Oct. 21 in Kansas City.

We hear that tickets to the World Series starts  at $1,000....many diehards were hoping for an I-70 Series with Royals and Cards, but it wasnt meant to be. Our question is, will Lorde's song, "Royals" be played during the Royals' home games.

The St Louis Cardinals' dreams to repeat its return to the World Series since 2011 ended Thursday when they lost to San Francisco Giants in the  NL Championship Series on a three-run drive that lifted San Francisco to a 6-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals (who won only one out of the five games)in Game 5 on Thursday night in SanFrancisco..

The Cards came in third which is a huge accomplishments based on the injuries they had this season especially Yadier Molina. But we are sure come April fans will forget this moment and move forward when the 2015 Season kicks off.

St. Louis native actress Jenifer Lewis will join the cast of the hit ABC show “Blackish.” She will play Dre's (Anthony Anderson’s) overbearing mother, Ruby. The network described Ruby as such: “She smothers pork chops with gravy, Dre with love, and would like to flat out smother Rainbow [Dre's wife, Tracee Ellis Ross], who feels the same way about her.”
Lewis will make her first appearance later this season.

Oh yes, get ready for your Emmy Award, Jennifer because we know you will be the scene stealer for sure (ala Jackee 227).

We wish St Louis native and based rock pioneer Chuck Berry who turns  88-years-old this  Saturday.

Why did that NFL Cowboys player  Joseph Randall steal underwear and cologne at a Dallas department store? Why is people making such a big deal that Stevie Wonder is about to be a father of triplets , his soon to be 11 total of children? Why has Mario Lopez wait now to say he had sex with Britney Spears back in the day?Why doesnt the United States have a Surgeon General?  Why was Katy Perry chosen to be the entertainer during the Half Time Show for the Super Bowl next year?  Why does Halle Berry have such bad luck with marriage? And hasnt there yet been a verdict on whether to indict Darren Wilson in killing Mike Brown?

NOTE: Over 1,000 people attended this event which was the same number from Wednesday's show in the same venue. This show really gave a sense of New York with its makeshift runway which was part of the venue's white marble floor. They also had a picture booth for patrons to take pics, and many samples of appetizers, veggies and cocktails.  The after party was quaint, with a London calling pub feel (and kudos to the chef who made the salmon for patrions to taste). Also spotted were Atillio D'Agastino of Corridor 40, Mary Clarke of Mother Model Management,  and STL TV's Gilberto Pinella,
