The last public TV appearance of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will be of their hosting  their final Kennedy Center Honors ceremony. This year the honorees will include Mavis Staples, Al Pacino, The Eagles, Martha Argerich and James Taylor. The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert will host The Kennedy Center Honors at 9pm on Tuesday, December 27th on CBS.
And for a great send off, we would love for the POTUS to come on the stage and say a few words about his tenure as the Head of State.

Did you all see the interview that ultra conservative pundit Tami Lohren had on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah? They talked topics such as the Trump protestors after the election, Black Lives Matter and Kaepernick. He pretty much put her in her place on those topics.

Looks like comedian David Chappelle has signed in ink a $60 million dollar deal with Netflix after making an iconic comeback hosting Saturday Night Live a coupl eof weeks ago.  Chappelle wlll give the streaming service three comedy specials at $20 milli a piece. So you all know what's next? A bidding war with these cable and standard networks trying to woo him with deals for him as well. Over 10 years ago, Chappelle walked away from $50 million to renew his contract with his monster comedy show on Comedy Central. So what's making him sign up for the bucks now? Was this all in the plan? Only he knows. But its good that he is back on the scene. His talent and angle on tackling social topics is definitely needed.

Gospel icon Shirley Caesar is dumbfounded on the idea that she is a viral sensation after a meme of her song, "Hold My Mule" became a U NAME IT challenge based activity as the refrain, "Beans, Greens, Potatoes, Tomatoes:" under a house beat. The meme has had people creating their own dances to it during the Thanksgiving holiday as well as merchandise.  Since then, the viral status has crossed over to her music career, According to Billboard, she  earned her first No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Gospel Songs chart  as "Hold My Mule," featuring Albertina Walker and Milton Brunson, rises 2-1. Caesar, originally released "Mule" in 1988, reigns as the track leads Gospel Streaming Songs for a second week, up by 268 percent to 3 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen Music.

Tom Joyner Morning Show radio fans were shocked this week when one of the show's personalities J Anthony Brown had a press conference online to announce his leaving the show after 20 years. Earlier this year, he staged a walk out after a money dispute  and was brought back a few days later after reconciliation. But this time around,  the walk out was permanent. Since his leaving, there have been rumors as to why he left.  Well, his contract was ending this month and he decided to leave before negotiations to renew his contract. and here is why.

From reports, it wasnt because of a salary dispute,
“It was based on me wanting to venture out and have my own weekend show. That’s it. We couldn’t come to terms. It was just time for me to leave… Sometimes people just disagree and part ways. That’s just what happened.”he said.
He harbors no resentment toward Joyner’s syndication company Reach Media or Joyner himself.
“It was absolutely the best job I’ve ever had,” Brown said. “The most fun I ever had.”
Since he couldn’t say goodbye on air, he did so on Twitter and said the video has been seen more than 60,000 times.
He was definitely the comic relief of the show. He was bold and sometimes a bit corny but he was definitely entertaining. So the question now is can anyone replace him? Damon Williams who has subbed for Brown on occasion may be a good replacement. But we vote for Lavelle Crawford who also subbed for Brown but more sporadically. But to be honest, Brown is irreplaceable.

The 2016 Soul Train Awards hosted by singer Erykah Badu (who also exec produced)  on BET topped the Nielsen Social Content Ratings for TV series and specials for the week of Nov. 21.The Soul Train Awards were responsible for 1.879 million total interactions across Facebook and Twitter, blowing away AMC’s The Walking Dead (555,000) and NBC’s The Voice  (450,000).

                                           RIP BITZ

This week we lost TV exec Grant Tinker (age 90); actress Florence Henderson (age 82), ACTOR Ron Glass (AGE 71) AND SINGER Colonel Abrams (age 67) and in the STL, radio legend Richard Onion Horton (age 80)

FIT BITZ

This week we feature  Dave Chappelle who's been sporting a buffer body these past few years. No longer the lanky thin comic that we knew him since his debut on the film Nutty Professor with Eddie Murphy. He is now the comic with the guns (and not as overkill as roided out comics Carrot Top or Joe Piscapo). We are surprised that he hasnt been asked to pose for any fitness magazine covers, but he can definitely give a few tips of his fitness regimen for those who seek to bulk up..

This week we feature singer Erykah Badu who hosted the Soul Train Music Awards that were aired last weekend. Here is the iconic artist on the red carpet of the show giving serious diva  fashion. Dressed in a burgundy top hat, a yellow regal Ralph & Russo chartreuse evening dress with Elizabethan undertones, she also wore oversize medallions strung on beads,  a rosary necklace and a Maat Egyptian-inspired multi-finger ring that could easily double as a fan.

Wooooo! Did you all see that hella wild sex scene from the season finale of HBO's Insecure with Laurence and Tasha (played by Jay Ellis and DomiNque Perry)???? It looked like they were smashin for real! In teh words of John Witherspoon--BANG-BANG-BANG!

OUT 286--THE TOP 40 GREATEST BLACK MALE MUSIC ARTISTS OF ALL TIME

In this country, Black music has been influential for creating the soundtrack to life and its many paths. From the rivers of slavery, the hand claps of gospel,  the cotton fields of blues, the cool of jazz, the jukeboxes of rhythm and blues, the fervor of soul, the grit of funk music and the swag of hip-hop. Within this cornucopia of sound have been black male artists who have either used their voices, production mastery,  fashion style, instrumental flair, raw gestures and/or dance rhythms to create image defining personas that have been studied, copied and, dare we say it.... envied.

Below are OUTSTAGN'S Top 40 artists who are pioneers in Black music who have stood the test of time and have laid the groundwork for the art and music they defined and shaped. Some are well known, some are unsung, but what they definitely have in common is their phenomenal talent.
