ITS THAT TIME!!

TIME TO CELEBRATE YOU!!!

WE WILL BE ON BREAK UNTIL JULY 12, 2013 

HAPPY 8th BDAY OUTTOWN!

It was July 8, 2005 when YOURS TRULY got the idea to tackle this new thing called blogs after being in the print journalism game five years prior.

My first blog was an intro diary of some sorts with no pics, just my saying hello. It was then called Haps On the Town. My first blog spot with a pic was one of me and actress Dawnn Lewis at the very last Joe Torry Celebrity BBall Weekend Meet and Greet at one of the St Louis hotels downtown (the hotel name slips me now). But soon after that, I started detailing my travels to the T from the first minute to the last minute. A year into it, I expanded doing more hard news topics along with entertainment focusing on the St Louis area and would have multiposts on Tuesdays and Thursdays (I had ten at one time one week).

 The blog also branched into the name OUTTOWN and started getting a name for being up and at em with reporting scoop   My blog also had a rep of giving criticism to what folks were wearing, what they were doing and of course, what they were saying. The blog also had its year end lists of the Top Promoters in the city which had its share of conversations on who was No.1 and who was left out. In 2011, the blog changed gears in focus with more features on local artists and entertainers and a name change OUTSTAGN to reflect that change.


 Throughout the eight years, the blog has seen its shares of highs and lows and recognition from such STL based award shows like Notice Me Awards and Hot List Awards and been referenced as a resource for other media outlets including Clear Channel radio personality Tammie Holland's Inside Scoop segments on Tony Scott's Show on Majic 104.9 FM (now 100.3). Thousands of posts later, the blog continues to make its way in posting, surviving many of the upstarts that have come and gone.

AND THIS BLOG WOULD NOT BE WHERE IT IS TODAY WITHOUT MY FOLLOWERS!

So here's to eight years OUTTOWN and hopefully we can continue on with giving you our time!
