The President recently said that the public's fascination
with the Kardashian and other high-profile celebs was
changing the American Dream, in an interview on
Amazon's Kindle Singles site.
Where children once aimed for a good home, a good job
and the possibility of higher education, he said, today's
youngsters are exposed to such wealth in the form of
celebrities' lifestyles that everything seems smaller by
comparison.
"Kids weren't monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian
was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation,
and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success,"
he said.
Mama Kardashian fired back on her talk show on Friday.
"It's really great that people aspire to get a great job ... but
I wasn't aware that you could only set the bar so high and
that we could only dream so big," Jenner said.
And Kanye and Kris, she said, didn't deserve the grief.
"I find it so odd that he's picking on Kim Kardashian and
Kanye West. Well, Kanye West, first of all, doesn't go on
vacation. Ever," Jenner said. "And Kim Kardashian is the
hardest-working young lady in the world. She never sleeps,
she never stops, she never slows down and works so hard
for what she's got."
The president also mentioned that Kim and Kanye live in
10,000 square-foot home, and Jenner found that hypocritical.
"I bet the President has some friends with 10,000 square
foot houses and that he wouldn't mind going over there…
when [he was] asking them to have a party for [him] while
[he was] campaigning for dollars to run for president."
There's been no further word from the White House.
Media queen Oprah Winfrey made her first visit to St Louis native and Bravo TV exec Andy Cohen's show "Watch Happens Live" this week —her latest promotional stop to hawk her awards-baiting new film Lee Daniels' The Butler—the 59-year-old sipped vodka tonics while shooting the breeze with Andy Cohen about a random (and, at times, borderline risqué!) pastiche of topics.
On the shortlist: big boobs, her bucket list and…twerking?!
But first up: the topic of marriage.
"I don't know if I wanna do that," Oprah answered, directly and nonplussed, when Cohen touched on whether she and beau Stedman Graham would ever tie the knot.
"It's really good right now, and when you add that 'wife' thing, then too much," she explained.
Oprah was also happy to weigh in on a few lighter topics, including what she might have on her bucket list.
Bottom line: There is no list.
"I don't," she answered when asked if she kept a checklist of stuff she'd eventually like to do. "I don't do that thing. I really do try to just live in the moment."
Those moments, apparently, don't include twerking: The Queen of All Media was suitably stumped when Cohen wondered if she knew how to do Miley Cyrus' fave dance move.
"No, I don't know what it is," she responded. "Should I? That's what people want to know about me?!"
Oprah even proved to be a good enough sport to poke fun at The Butler costar Terrence Howard's famously raunchy comments about her, um, ample bosom.
"It's OK, because they really are big!" she said good naturedly.
To which we can only respond: Can we please have the Oprah back on Watch What Happens Live very, very soon?

In other Cohen newz, the Late-night personality and
frequent Miss Universe co-host told E! News
Wednesday that he will be boycotting this year's festivities
in light of Russia's anti-gay laws.
This year's ceremony is set to take place in Moscow,
Russia in November. International
attention turned to Russia and its controversial
viewpoint on gay rights, precisely because
it is hosting major events in the coming months,
including the 2014 Winter Olympics.
"The law is that anyone under suspicion of homosexuality
can be arrested," Cohen told his 2012
Miss Universe pageant co-host, E! News' Giuliana Rancic
and added that he "didn't feel right as a
gay man stepping foot into Russia."
Cohen's announcement comes after a gay Miss
Universe fan from New Jersey rallied
more than 20,000 signatures and counting on a
Change.org petition urging the Miss
Universe organization, which is owned and operated
by Donald Trump, to relocate this year's pageant.
Cohen, co-hosted the Miss Universe pageant in 2011
and 2012.
Following Joy Behar's star-studded goodbye, ABC has
released the first images of her replacement,
Chicago native TV personality Jenny McCarthy, with the
remaining "The View" co-hosts
Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldbergand Chicago native
comedian Sherri Shepherd for its upcoming
17th season. McCarthy's addition was announced on
July 15. Confusing at first, ABC said
the comedienne would be replacing Behar and not
Elisabeth Hasselbeck who left the show last month
to join the Fox News Network.
Guess Dodgers fans prefer Kanye West to watch his throne elsewhere.
Ye looked on as the Dodgers beat theNew York Mets on Wednesday night in L.A., but he didn't get a warm reception from the crowd.
When the Chicago bred rap superstar was shown on
the jumbotron at Dodgers Stadium, the rapper
was booed by fans (singer Robin Thicke ho also was
at the game when he was shown on the tron, he
got cheered and applauded).
ESPN reporter Arash Markazi documented the
incident on Twitter.
Earlier Wednesday, the 35-year-old rapper was
photographed with Kim, 32, and their two-month-
old daughter North West. The happy family was
snapped walking into a medical facility in L.A. and
while it marks the first time Kim has stepped out in
public since giving birth, we have yet to see little
Nori's face as she was covered up while being carried
by a nanny.
The St. Louis Rams opened their 2013
preseason
schedule on Thursday, Aug. 8 as
they traveled to
Cleveland to face the Browns at
FirstEnergy
Stadium.The Browns won 27-19 victory
over
the St. Louis Rams in Week 1 of
preseason action.
Thursday’s game marked the third time
in four years that the
Rams have visited Cleveland. St. Louis won the last meeting
between the two teams, a 13-12 contest on Nov. 13, 2012.
The Rams also won a 2010 preseason contest in Cleveland.
The Rams and Browns have previously met 27 times in the preseason, the last coming in
Cleveland in 2010. St. Louis holds a 14-12-1 advantage in the preseason series. The
Rams' will play their first home preseason
game at the Edward Jones Dome on Aug. 17 when the Green Bay Packers come to town.
