AMERICAN RAPPER Nelly has teamed up with a Canadian

pop singer and a Bollywood film star to help highlight the lack

 of electricity in Africa.

Canadian pop music star Raghav is set to release his new

summer single Until The Sun Comes Up.

The track features Grammy Award-winning rapper Nelly, and

an exclusive version that features the hip-hop stylings of

Bollywood superstar Abhishek Bachchan
.
On the unlikely collaboration, Nelly said: "Any collaboration is

about the artist and the song, in this case I believe in both

, but also the social awareness Raghav is trying to bring to

an under reported issue. I'm very happy to be part of this."

Of the track Raghav added: "I hope people will look years

from now at this song being a singular moment when east

andwest collaborated in a way that has a true global musical

 impact.

"And performing it with Nelly - who is a legend - and

Abhishek - who is the most talented human I've ever met -

make this song even more special to me."

Rap star Nelly becomes the latest star to collaborate with

Bollywood, following acts like Akon, Snoop Dogg, Nicole

Scherzinger and Kylie Minogue, who have all recorded for

Bollywood movies with leading Indian stars.

Chicago based actress Jennifer Beals stars in TNT's new

series "Proof. " The question is whether it will be renewed or

cancelled? The show, in its first  season, premiered on June

16. The series revolves around the question of whether or

not there is life after death.
TV by the Numbers reported that the series has been averaging 7.1 million viewers per episode across TNT's multiple platforms, which is less than what other shows on the network receive, such as "Rizzoli & Isles" and "Major Crimes." However, "Proof" is still averaging better than "Murder in the First" or "Falling Skies."
Although there is no word yet on whether or not a season 2 is happening, the ratings could indicate that there's hope for the freshman series.

In "Proof," Beals plays Dr. Carolyn Tyler, a surgeon who has suffered the recent devastating loss of her teenage son. She also has gone through a recent near-death experience herself. Her marriage has ended, and her daughter is growing more distant.
Other members of the cast include David Sutcliffe, Edi Gathegi, Caroline Rose Kaplan, Callum Blue and Annie Thurman.
"Proof" airs Tuesday nights at 10/9c p.m. on TNT.

Chicago native blues singer and Grammy Award winning Buddy Guy has released new album, Born To Play Guitar. Guy pays homage to two of the fellow legends — and friends — who inspired him: Muddy Waters, whom Guy met as a sessions musician early in his career, and B.B. King, who died in May, while Guy was working on Born. Tracks include Come Back Muddy and Flesh & Bone, the latter dedicated to King and featuring Van Morrison

TV Land's "The Soul Man," starring Cedric "The Entertainer," Emmy(R)-nominated actress, Niecy Nash and Wesley Jonathan, has been renewed for its fifth and final 12-episode season, the network announced this week.

The sitcom, which follows Cedric as R&B super-star-turned minister Reverend Boyce "The Voice" Ballentine, is the network's highest-rated original series among African Americans 25-54 and African American Women 25-54. Over the course of four seasons, the series averaged a 2.20 rating 25-54  and a 2.65 rating among AA W 25-54.

Last season, "The Soul Man" averaged a 1.07 rating among African American P25-54 viewers, up +365% compared to the TV Land prime average among the demo and among AA W25-54, Season 4 averaged a 1.32 rating, up +340% compared to the TV Land prime average.
Since the series launch in 2012.

The St. Louis Cardinals and FOX Sports Midwest  announced this week  a new long-term television rights agreement. The new agreement reportedly will begin in 2018 and will run 15 seasons through the 2032 season.  Financial terms were not disclosed.
FOX Sports Midwest also announced an extension of its partnership with Ballpark Village, which includes a 2nd floor studio facing Busch Stadium and a naming rights sponsorship of FOX Sports Midwest Live! -- the restaurant and entertainment venue at the heart of the project.

FOX Sports Midwest and the Cardinals are currently in the 22nd season of their successful television partnership -- the fifth season in which FOX Sports Midwest has served as the exclusive local TV home of the team. Under the new agreement, FOX Sports Midwest will continue to produce all locally-available Cardinals regular-season games.
