OK NOW TO THE BITZ THIS WEEK

Some of the TV ratings from the Olympics are in. From reports, in the weeks before the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, NBC officials believed that the prime-time audience for its 17-day event would match or exceed that of the London Games four years earlier. With stars like Michael Phelps, Katie Ledecky and Usain Bolt returning and a formidable United States women’s gymnastics team, NBC saw London’s overall viewership of 31 million as an attainable goal.
But so far that figure is looking unreachable. NBC’s performance stumbled early: Viewership for Friday’s opening ceremony fell 35 percent compared with four years ago, followed by a 28 percent tumble in the first day of competition. Although NBC has done better since, the average audience of 28.6 million after five days is down nearly 20 percent from the 35.6 million who were watching the London Games.
And viewership among people ages 18 to 34 has fallen 32 percent.
Normally this would be a cause of great anxiety at NBC, which has carried every Summer Games since 1988 and has $12 billion in deals to show all the Olympics through 2032. The prime-time broadcast on NBC brings in about three-quarters of its Olympic advertising and is counted on to attract hard-to-reach millennials and older viewers and to overwhelm rival networks in prime time.
“The main event on NBC is what we’re most concerned about,” said Billie Gold, the vice president and director of programming research at Amplifi, a division of the ad agency Dentsu Aegis Network, which has numerous clients advertising on NBC’s Rio broadcasts. “That’s where the big dollars are going.”
But NBCUniversal believes it has an answer to where some prime-time viewers went: They are watching the Olympics on two of the media giant’s cable networks, Bravo and NBCSN, and streaming events online, reflecting how consumers have changed their media viewing habits.
On Tuesday night, 33.4 million were watching in prime time on NBC, more than five million fewer than those who watched the comparable night in London. But another 2.3 million were watching on cable and the equivalent of 404,000 were streaming live video and earlier events. The total of 36.1 million was still below the nearly 38.8 million viewers four years ago on NBC in London, when there was no parallel cable viewing and streaming in prime time. NBC calls its combined number the total audience delivery.
NBC’s streaming of all events (except the opening ceremony) has been met by a fan base that is increasingly tethered to their smartphones, tablets and connected televisions and who want to view events when it is convenient for them — not when NBC schedules them.
And putting sports like judo, tennis, soccer, fencing and basketball on cable during prime time represents a new opportunity for viewers who prefer those sports or do not want to see the same core of elaborately produced sports that dominate NBC in prime time, like swimming, diving, gymnastics, beach volleyball and track and field.

Its a different day when it comes to watching TV. As the reports stated there are many other ways to watch TV including streaming on the Internet and you have DVR watching. But it could also be just the sports that have been competed. Everyone knows the three main sports that people watch are swimming, gymnastics and track and field. Any fencing fans out there? LOL

As far as the stars of the Olympics, on Thursday, Mike Phelps, added No. 22 Gold medal to his collection by winning the 200-meter individual medley.  Simone Biles took the
gold in the women's gymnastics all-around competition becoming the first woman in 20 years to win back-to-back world and Olympic all around titles.

Additionally, Simone Manuel had a decent chance to medal Thursday in the 100-meter freestyle, but she wasn't supposed to compete for gold. The current Stanford Cardinal flew down the final 25 meters to chase down the Australian leaders and tied with a 16-year-old from Canada to win gold. It was the first individual swimming medal for an African-American woman ever.
"It means a lot [being the first female African-American female to win individual gold]," Manuel said. "This medal is not just for me. It's for a whole bunch of people who came before me and have been an inspiration to me. ... And for all the people after me who believe they can't do it, I just want to be an inspiration to others that you can do it."

The wildly popular DC Comics’ adaptation has already shattered all sorts of box office records, and now, Suicide Squad has officially grossed more than $300 million worldwide.

Deadline reported Suicide Squad experienced a record-breaking Tuesday gross of $14.27M, outdoing other highs from Captain America: Civil War andBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The super-villain flick is smashing midweek expectations, helping to bring its overall earnings to over $326.1M.
Domestically, the film has hauled in over $161M, and Suicide Squad’s international grossing is also pushing the flick to new heights. In Brazil, the film has already out-grossedGuardians of the Galaxy in just six days. The same phenomenon was seen in South Korea asSuicide Squad overtook Guardian of the Galaxy’s entire run in just one week with $12.1M. But, when it comes to international markets, the United Kingdom is bringing in the most profit with $19.7M.
Other markets like Russia and Mexico have also contributed to Suicide Squad’s massive earnings with $14.2M and $13.2M respectively.
According to Deadline, Suicide Squad could see a decent $51M draw during its second domestic weekend. With the film already standing as the biggest August opener and the largest August pre-sale of all-time, it seems like Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have little to worry about with their insanely lucrative film.

We guess the protest against Rotten Tomatoes critics bad reviews didnt do much to stop fans from hitting the theaters.

Heirs of singer, songwriter and producer Ed Townsend, who co-wrote Marvin Gaye's 1973 soul staple "Let's Get It On," filed suit against Sheeran on Tuesday in federal court in the Southern District of New York. At issue is Sheeran's song "Thinking Out Loud," which was co-written with Amy Wadge, a frequent Sheeran collaborator.
According to Reuters, the litigants claim that Sheeran and Wadge "copied the 'heart' of 'Let's' and repeated it continuously throughout 'Thinking,'" and add: "The melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic compositions of 'Thinking' are substantially and/or strikingly similar to the drum composition of 'Let's.'"
In the U.S., it peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Sheeran took home two Grammy awards this past February for "Thinking Out Loud," for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
Along with Sheeran, the suit names Wadge and the song's producer, Jake Gosling, as well as Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Atlantic Records and Warner Music Group.
Critics have been pointing out similarities between the two songs since it was first released in June 2014 as part of Sheeran's album x.
Billboard write-up from the week of x's release called "Thinking Out Loud" a "sleek update of Marvin Gaye's 'Let's Get It On.'"
And as The Washington Post has pointed out, Sheeran himself seems to acknowledge some connection — as in this concert, reportedly filmed in Zurich in 2014, where he segues from "Thinking Out Loud" straight into Gaye's hit.

We think this will be settled out of court as well and the Townshend and Gaye Family  adding more to its court settlement pot.

"Saturday Night Live" is losing some of its familiar faces.

Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah will not be returning to the long-running sketch series, NBC confirms to CNN.TVLine first reported the news.
NBC also said Tuesday morning that freshman cast member Jon Rudnitsky would also not be returning.

Killam and Pharoah have both been on the series for

    six seasons.

In an interview with Uproxx, Killam seemed taken aback by NBC's decision not to pick up his contract for the upcoming season.
"I had sort of had it in my head I would make this upcoming year my last year, but then heard they weren't going to pick up my contract," he said in an interview with the publication. "I was never given a reason why, really. I can assume until the cows come home."
Killam is working on his directorial debut, "Why We're Killing Gunther."
Killam admits that the post-production on the film would have had some cross over with his "SNL" commitments, but he was unsure whether that played a role in his contract being terminated a year early.
    Ultimately, he sounded grateful.
Pharoah hasn’t made an official statement or given interviews about his ouster thus far, but on Tuesday night, the comedian posted a photo of himself with Killam and castmate Vanessa Bayer with the caption “My fam for life.”

"SNL" will return for Season 42 this fall.
We are sure they will do well and besides, SNL is a spriongboard for many alums who went on to do bigger projects, can you say Eddie Murphy and Chevy Chase?

Warriors Power Forward Draymond Green, 4x NBA Champ Horace Grant and Michelle Williamsof Destiny’s Child star in the latest Footlocker Commercial.
The commercial is hilarious and encouraging kics to stand out in the crowd as Horace compliments Green for standing out on a stacked warriors roster. Green is then dismantled at the fact he has no clue who the 4x NBA champion is or what team he was once apart of. He then realizes as he puts on his signature rec specs that it’s Horace Grant and he then starts taking advice from the 4x nba champ.
As the two discuss Green standing out, Michelle Williams of Destiny Child chimes in and speaks on obstacles of being apart of a well-known group and standing out. The two men don’t recognize her and she is forced to explain what group she is apart of while also shooting down Green’s request to meet the lead singer of Destiny’s Child (Beyonce).
This commerical is quite good and we can see the three of them doing more ads like this in the future.

Who knew a peen on screen would cause such a ruckus. Curtis James Jackson III aka 50 Cent , who is an exec and co-star  on  Starz’s hit drama Power, cauased a twitter rant about his peen being exposed in last Sunday's episode involving a masterbating  session with Candie (played by Natalie Paul)
In the controversial scene, Kanan is recovering from a series of horrific burns, just minding his own business. His cousin Jukebox (played by Anika Noni Rose) deploys her girlfriend Candie to go see if Kanan’s hands still work. This display of familial goodwill culminates in a shot of 50 Cent painstakingly beginning to pleasure himself, sans penis prosthetic.
Heres where the problem starts.   Jackson, who initially gushed to TV Guide about his penis’s “debut,” became strangely irate prior to its premiere. In a series of now-deleted Instagram posts, Fiddy raged at Power’s executive producer Courtney Kemp, calling her a “bitch” and accusing her of lying about the scene.
He urges Kemp to “kiss my ass,” because “this shit is not funny.” Specifically unfunny shit includes the fact that “Now my auntie G can’t watch POWER because my d!ck is debuting tonight. SMH you motherfucker.” 50 Cent feels duped: “The shit wasn’t in the first 3 edits…Nah yal got me fucked Up.” After promising that he had calmed down, he politely asked Kemp to call him because “BITCH I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU DID THAT WITH OUT TELLING ME FIRST, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!!!”
In an earlier TV Guide interview, where he talked about the editing process in detail. The rapper explained, “First it was supposed to be darker [after footage was edited.] You couldn’t see it on the screen. [A producer] was like, ‘I gotta show you! When you put it on the screen, you can see it.’ I don’t care.”
The social media “beef” continued, with Kemp publishing a response on Instagram, “@50cent must lie because you knew what we were shooting during 404. Yeah that’s your [eggplant emoji] you signed the waiver like everybody else.” This also feels like a troll, as no sane producer would respond to a complaint from a close colleague by dragging them on social media.

Hmm, what is really going on? Maybe 50 got too many comments of how underwhelming the peen was maybe? Dunno but as they say controversy sells and the scene definitely set teh bar on male nudity on screen.

RIP to Longtime ESPN anchor John Saunders who died suddenly this week. He was found uponsive by his wife and paramedics were not able to resuscitate him. He was 61

    IN THE STL:
Busch Stadium will host music royalty Saturday night for St. Louis’ biggest concert in years. That’s when more than 41,000 fans will descend on the Cardinals’ home turf for Paul McCartney’s sold-out “One On One” tour.
The ballpark will transform into a temporary concert venue in record time.
The show, the first concert at Busch Stadium since U2 played there in 2011, follows Wednesday night’s Cardinals-Reds game. The stadium was  turned over to McCartney’s crew at 12:01 a.m. Thursday.

UPDATE: More tickets were being printed for standing room only.

Veteran theater actor and St Louis native Ken Page, who plays the regal African king Amonarso in the Muny’s current production of “Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida,” stepped out of character at Tuesday night’s performance.
Tuesday’s show, which coincided with the two-year anniversary of Ferguson teenager Michael Brown’s shooting death, was disrupted for about 25 minutes by about 40 protesters, according to Muny spokesman Kwofe Coleman. The protest started at the beginning of the second act and took place at the rear of the audience area.
After the protest, Page, a St. Louis native, took to the stage with his co-star, Michelle Williams, to address what had happened, while evoking the names of Michael Brown, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, drawing mixed reaction from the audience.
Some took Page’s words as a slam of Trump; others appreciated his words.

Many questioned why the Muny was targeted for the Black Lives Matter protest but if they were going to get their message across to mainly mainstream and non white audiences then they accomplished that. Mr Page handled the situation the best way that he could and in some ways elevated his sentiments about the matter.

    FIT BITZ

This week we feature 50 Cent who created a stir when his peen was shown on last Sundays episode of Power. Prior to the peen scene, Fiddy has been noted as one of the best fit hip hop artists in the business.

This week we feature Olympic champ Simone Biles who not only is racking up Gold Medals for her gymnist skills, but she is also getting noticed for her  patriotic style eye makeup that is becoming an Internet sensation.
