HERE ARE THIS WEEK'S SPOT BITZ...

Trump made Person of The Year for Time Magazine....

Moving on.....

This week the nominees for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards were announced and Beyoncé led the nominations with nine nominations including Album of the Year for "Lemonade."  Tied with eight were Rihanna, Kanye West and Drake.  So the talk these few days have been who will win Album of The Year either Beyoncé or Adele's "25." We think that Beyoncé should receive it (and Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it as the best album of 2016 as well), but this is the Grammy Awards and can pull a surprise (remember Beck winning Album of the Year over Beyoncé?)so it could be a shock that neither Beyoncé nor Adele wins and black hourse country artist Sturgill Simpson could win it  whos nominated. But as far as relevance,Beyoncé made headlines with her single "Formation" (which is nominated for both Record and Song of the Year) and its video entitling  the Black Lives Matter movement, but we will see Feb 12. On  a historic moment,. Beyoncé's nominations made her the most nominated female in Grammy history with 62. So who do you think should win?

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey will conduct the final one-on-one interview with First Lady Michelle Obama in the White House.Winfrey’s interview with the first lady will air on CBS on Dec. 19 and again on OWN on Dec. 21.The interview is titled “First Lady Michelle Obama Says Farewell to the White House — An Oprah Winfrey Special,” produced by OWN Studios. Winfrey will talk to Obama about her eight years as First Lady, her accomplishments in the White House and her plans for the future (which doesn't entail her running for the Oval Office in 2020---well not as of now.)

Did you all see the premiere episode of Mariah Carey's eight- part docuseries (more like lounging series), "Mariah's World on E Channel? The  premiere pulled a 0.5 rating with 1.2 million viewers. Based on Nielsen's Top 100 Cable shows, it ranked #20. Did you all see it? What did you all think? It is definitely a parody skit ready to happen!

And speaking of Mimi, according to reports, nearly two million total viewers tuned in to catch Mariah Carey along with  Patti LaBelle, Teyana Taylor, Chaka Khan, Vanessa Williams among others who performed at "VH1 DIVAS HOLIDAY: UNSILENT NIGHT" on VH1 this week.  It marked VH1's highest rated "Divas" in more than a decade.
Additionally, DIVAS trended #1 on Twitter. Did you all view it? What were your thoughts?

The Live telecast of the musical Hairspray helped make NBC the top network Wednesday with a 2.3 rating and almost 9 million viewers. However, of all the TV live musicals since The Sound of Music in 2013  ranked last.

Here’s how that stacks up against the live-same-day ratings for other televised live musicals:

  • “The Sound of Music Live!” (aired Dec. 5, 2013 on NBC): 4.6, 18.62 million
  • “Peter Pan Live!” (aired Dec. 4, 2014 on NBC): 2.4, 9.21 million
  • “The Wiz Live!” (aired Dec. 3, 2015 on NBC): 3.4, 11.5 million
  • “Grease: Live” (aired Jan. 31, 2016 on Fox): 4.3, 12.18 million
Opinionmakers are saying the low ratings could have occurred because of heavy competition on the other networks including  "Empire" on Fox.  Did you all see it?

And speaking of Empire, the hit series had its lowest ratings  since its debut in 2015 this past Wednesday with a 2.5 rating and close to 7 million viewers.  The way the ratings have been going, we wonder how many more seasons does the show have?  When it debuted its first season were pulling in close to 18 million viewers. Now, the viewership have been cut more than 60 percent.  Some say the soap operish feel to the show could be the reason (Rhonda's ghost for example). The show still is one of the highest ranking shows on network television, but it looks like Empire isn't the appointment watching show that it once was.

And speaking of Empire, its spin off , "Star" starring Queen Latifah will air  its first episode after Empire next Wednesday.

Radio legend Tom Joyner announced Friday the replacement (or shall we say the replacements) of longtime co-host J Anthony Brown on the Tom Joyner Morning Radio Show. He reported that five comedians will replace Brown. They are: Arsenio Hall, Bill Bellamy, Lavelle Crawford, Sherri Shepherd and Kym Whitley. They replacements will start Jan 2, 2017. Joyner said that he knew Brown's leaving was coming at the end of this year  but he didn't expect Brown to leave early. He also said that he was going to announce his replacement on Friday's show on his last show before going on Christmas vacation, but was bit angered with Brown for leaving early. So, what do you think of the new change? Should Joyner be in his feelings because Brown left before the inevitable? And on a side note we are shocked that comedian Damon Williams didn't get a spot as one of the replacements. That was a shocker for he was the first subber when Brown was not present, but we are glad that Crawford got a spot (and we mentioned of him being a possible replacement last week.).

This week we feature Beyonce who made newz for the most Grammy nominations for the 2017 awards as well most nominated female in history. She is also known for being a sex siren in the music biz especially after her photo spread in Sports Illustrated a few years ago.

This week we feature Steve Harvey who hosted Showtime At The Apollo special that aired this week on Fox. The Emmy award winning host has always been a dapper guy, even having his own line of suits,
