THE TOP 50 GREATEST FEMALE ARTISTS OF ALL TIME

The black female entertainer has been an integral part in the fabric of American music and culture as well as the world since the development of the entertainment industry in the 19th century. In honor of this,  OUTSTAGN has polled the TOP 50 Black Female Music Artists of All Time. Whether its soul, R&B, gospel, disco, jazz, hip-hop or dance, we chose those female artists who have made a lasting impression in the music industry. To add some flavor to the list, there are also two female artists who would be considered "blue eyed" soul--white artists who sing with soul and have a huge urban/black audience following. The list was based on  influence in music, impact in music and/or music success in their fields and their legacy in the entertainment industry.

BEFORE WE GET INTO THE TOP 50, WE WANTED TO GIVE HONORABLE MENTIONS TO THOSE FEMALE ARTISTS WHO RANKED (No. 60 to NO. 51)

THE TOP ILLI MO STORIES THIS WEEK ARE:

GQ’s Man Of The Year coverguy is….. President Barack Obama.
As the POTUS begins his last full year in office, he discusses
everything from his daughters’ waning interest in their old man to
his full support if his wife becomes a highly paid media mogul
after he leaves office.

This is the president's second time gracing the cover
of GQ. Here, Us Weekly rounds up the 10 most
memorable moments and quotes from his Q&A.
1. He Would Travel Back in Time to Tell Himself in 2008
"You're gonna be busy," he said.

2. He Compares Himself to Aaron Rodgers Under
Pressure

3. He Would Answer the Phone for These Five
People While He's on a Date With Michelle
"Malia and Sasha," Obama told GQ with a laugh. "And maybe my
mother-in-law. My national security advisor, Susan Rice,
and Denis McDonough, my chief of staff.
Those are the only people whose call I would take
during a date night with Michelle."
4. He Considers the Sandy Hook Shootings Among "the Worst Few Days" of His Presidency
5. He Marvels at His Daughters' Cell Phone Habits
6. He's Entertained by Obama Conspiracy Theories

7. He Finds Some of "the Secret Stuff" Disappointing
"People always ask me about Roswell and the aliens and UFOs, and it turns out the stuff going on that’s top secret isn’t nearly as exciting as you expect," the president said. "In this day and age, it’s not as top secret as you’d think."
8. He Is Not Pleased With How Some People Look at Malia
9. He Reveals the Presidency Perk He'll Miss Most
10. He Would've Enjoyed Running Against Donald Trump
"I would've enjoyed campaigning against Trump. That
would've been fun."
St Louis native business mogul Jack Dorsey's mobile Square's surge Thursday may make its CEO and co-founder, Jack Dorsey, forget all about Twitter's drubbing this year.
According to reports, shares of the mobile payment company soared 45 percent in their public debut,
netting Dorsey a roughly $300 million paper gain. Dorsey — who currently heads both Square and Twitter — saw his net worth top $1.5 billion Thursday in stock value alone.
Square opened at $11.20 per share Thursday after pricing at $9 a share, below the company's
initial expected range of $11 to $13 a share. The stock closed the day at $13.07 per share.

Spike Lee’s latest movie Chi-Raq opens in theatres for a limited release December 4th. Nick Cannon, Samuel L. Jackson, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson and Angela Bassett are featured in the controversial film that takes a raw, hard look at the violence in Chicago. After its limited release, the movie will be released to Amazon Instant Video.

According to stltoday.com, The St. Louis Zoo has agreed to buy the animal park Grant’s Farm for about
$30 million from the heirs of  August A. “Gussie” Busch Jr.
But reportedly the deal only goes through if a city judge backs four of six Busch heirs seeking to release
the land from a trust — and if area residents approve an added tax to fund as much as $8.5 million
in yearly park operation costs.
The sale would reportedly  triple the zoo’s acreage, add a third campus to its holdings and allow the
zoo to build a “robust” breeding facility for endangered animals, zoo leaders said .
The zoo envisions that Grant’s Farm would reportedly keep its tram, Clydesdales and free beer.
The Busches would reportedly hold onto the family mansion  and the park would get a major face-lift,
including upgraded food service, new tram trails and maybe  ropes courses and zip lines.

Why werent Kenya and Beirut not giving the same amount of
coverage as France when they were attacked by ISIS? Why was the
National Inquirer able to get the info about Charlie Sheen's HIV status
before any other media source? Why do people
think that Patti LaBelle actually made those Patti Pies sold at Wal mart?
And why did some stores put a hoax recall on them? Why did
Charlie Sheen France attacks Why is Taye Diggs getting so much flack
on his comment about he wants his biracial son to be considered "mixed" rather
than labelled "Black" or "White?"  Why is writer Shonda Rimes getting flack about her interview
with Oprah and saying she was not interested in getting married? Why did singer Carly Simon  only reveal
one of the three people (Warren Beatty) she sang about on her 1970s hit, "Your So Vain? And why do people
use flimsey umbrellas in very high windy and/ or rainy days?
