THTHE TOP ILLI MO STORIES THIS WEEK ARE:

Oprah Winfrey, whose book club produced dozens of best sellers, is now writing a memoir that will draw on “her own story as the source of inspirational advice.”
It will be called The Life You Want and is due out in January 2017, Flatiron Books announced Thursday.
In addition, the publisher said Winfrey will be given her own book imprint, which will publish several non-fiction titles a year, chosen by her. (The imprint does not yet have a name.)
In a news release about her new book, Winfrey said: “All of my experiences, even the painful ones, have been there to teach me something about life.  I’m still learning and I hope my story inspires other people to live the highest, fullest expression of themselves."
Last year, Winfrey wrote What I Know for Sure, a collection of her columns from O, The Oprah Magazine. It reached No. 52 on USA TODAY’s Best-Selling Books list.

Chicago native actor/comedian Bill Murray is decking the halls of the Carlyle Hotel with a few of his closest friends.
In A Very Murray Christmas, on Netflix Friday, Murray stars as a cocktail-swigging, lounge-singing version of himself, whose plans to tape a live holiday TV special from the hotel are dashed when a blizzard rolls into town. But with the help of stranded guests, staff and pianist Paul Shaffer, the actor still manages to pull off an informal cabaret show of Christmas standards.
Co-created with Murray's Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola and Scroogedscreenwriter Mitch Glazer, the one-hour special harks back to holiday variety shows featuring Bing Crosby and Bob Hope, and mixes a loose narrative with song-and-dance performances. It features a star-studded cast — many in hotel or holiday garb — including George ClooneyMiley CyrusChris RockAmy PoehlerRashida Jones,Maya RudolphJason Schwartzman, and Michael Cera.
"We dragged people along who you wouldn't think would be in this situation," Murray, 65, says. "The great thing about it was, everyone did better than we thought or they thought they'd do. Paul Shaffer was the common chord with (them). He went, 'You can do this better. How about you do this?' He liked the whole idea from the beginning, and liked the fact that all the people had the talent to do it and were doing better than expected."
Glazer, who worked with Murray on Scrooged and this fall's Rock the Kasbah, says, "It sounds like a Mickey Rooney thing: 'Let's put on a show,' which it was. Bill thought of his favorite people and (Sofia and I) kind of chimed in with some. The feeling of (being in) the halls of the Carlyle in New York during a blizzard is exactly like what you see. It really felt familial."

Spike Lee’s latest movie Chi-Raq opens in theatres for a limited release December 4th. Nick Cannon, Samuel L. Jackson, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson and Angela Bassett are featured in the controversial film that takes a raw, hard look at the violence in Chicago. After its limited release, the movie will be released to Amazon Instant Video.

Some critics reviews from reports have been mixed on the film, but Spike
Lee was on the Tom Joyner Morning Radio Show Friday and
said that the film was shown in only 400 theaters and pushed for
everyone to see the film before it hits Amazon Video as well as the
new Star Trek movie.

According to stltoday.com, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon met with Rams owner Stan Kroenke on Monday at Rams Park, multiple sources told the Post-Dispatch. Dave Peacock, co-chair of the St. Louis stadium task force, also was at Rams Park on Monday, although Peacock did not take part in the meeting.
A spokesperson from Nixon’s office later confirmed that the meeting took place but provided no further
 details.
Kroenke was in attendance last month in New York when the task force made its presentation to three
NFL committees. But Monday’s get-together may be the first time that Kroenke and Nixon have met
face-to-face on anything related to the potential relocation of the Rams to Los Angeles or the
St. Louis stadium project.
Over the course of his ownership involvement with the Rams, but especially since he became controlling
owner of the club in 2010, Kroenke has rarely been at Rams Park.
Specifics of Monday’s meeting were uncertain, but according to a source, Kroenke wanted to make
sure he had a “complete understanding of things.”
There have been recent indications that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has nudged Kroenke to
engage in communication and dialogue with Nixon on the proposed $1 billion riverfront stadium
on the north edge of downtown.
One of the frequent complaints about Kroenke in particular, and the Rams in general, is that the
organization has not engaged in any kind of consistent dialogue with the St. Louis task force, formed
by Nixon a year ago and co-chaired by Peacock and Bob Blitz.
At a town hall meeting Oct. 27 at Peabody Opera House to discuss the potential relocation of the
Rams, NFL executive vice president Eric Grubman said the league was negotiating directly with the
task force on the stadium project.

Hmm, interesting. Now everyone is trying to figure out what was said in the meeting but one thing
we know for sure is the question of who is paying for the stadium had to have come up--and one thing
for sure, from past reports, Kronke is not paying for the stadium. The Board of Aldermen has already
voted that the public will not vote on whether it will pay its share (ie. It will be decided by the political
entities) and they have until Dec 28 to draft the proposal. What we think? We think the stadium will be
built, but the Rams will not be the team moved in it--the team will be going with Kronke and likely another
team will be bought....we just sayin.

Mizzou coach hired Missouri defensive coordinator Barry Odom has been named the program's new coach, the school announced Thursday night. Odom, who agreed to a five-year contract, replaces Gary  Pinkel, whose retirement became effective after the Tigers' season-ending loss to Arkansas on Nov. 27. Odom, a Missouri graduate, was Missouri's defensive coordinator last season after returning from Memphis.
"I'm tremendously honored to have this opportunity," Odom said in a news release. "Mizzou means the world to me and to my family, and we couldn't be more proud and excited to be in this position."
Pinkel, who was coach for 15 years and the most winningest coach in Mizzou history,
resigned from Mizzou last month after disclosing he had Non Hodgkins lymphoma.

THE TOP 50 GREATEST FEMALE ARTISTS OF ALL TIME

The black female entertainer has been an integral part in the fabric of American music and culture as well as the world since the development of the entertainment industry in the 19th century. In honor of this,  OUTSTAGN has polled the TOP 50 Black Female Music Artists of All Time. Whether its soul, R&B, gospel, disco, jazz, hip-hop or dance, we chose those female artists who have made a lasting impression in the music industry. To add some flavor to the list, there are also two female artists who would be considered "blue eyed" soul--white artists who sing with soul and have a huge urban/black audience following. The list was based on  influence in music, impact in music and/or music success in their fields and their legacy in the entertainment industry.
