HERE"SHE
THIS WEEK'S SPOT BITZ ....

So who do you think will win the World Series? This years is definitely historic for both The Cubs and The Indians because its been decades since both teams has ever been on the world stage of baseball--and the ratings ratings show that. This past  Wednesday’s Game 2 ratings hit a seven-year high. According to reports, the primetime matchup scored an 11.3 in  metered market results, which is the best any World Series Game 2 has done since the major-market Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees faced off in the Bronx on October 29, 2009. Game 1 of this year’s World Series also was a seven-year best in MM results, and also went on to be the most-watched opening game since 2009.

This weekend, the Cubs play on home turf at Wrigley Field, so we will see how well the boys of the Midwest will do.  If you have money to spend,   we hear that the  price for a ticket in VIP was about $3,000 for Friday's Game 3 and $3,700 for Saturday. For Sunday's game  the median price was $3,550 as of Thursday . Face value for tickets ranges from $450 for infield club boxes to $175 for upper-deck seats. We are sure actor Bill Murray will be in the VIP boxes cheering his Cubs on.

UPDATE:The Indians won GAME 4Friday nite and heading the lead 2 to 1

2nd UPDATE The CUBS  won GAME 5 Sunday nite
and the lead is now Indians 3-2 and CUBS 2-3

This past Saturday, SNL parodied the final debate between Trump and Clinton with critical success, but the shot that everybody was talking about on Monday morning at the watercooler was the Black Jeopardy skit , a recurring skit on the show where Kenan Thompson plays the host,  with two black players and one white player, This past Sunday it was with Leslie Jones and Sasheer Zamata as two of the three competitors. The third was Doug, played by Tom Hanks playing a hillbilly Trump supporter  as each player answer questions in a question from various black based topics.

This past weekend;s episode, with host Tom Hanks and singer Lady Gaga, drew the best viewership of the current season thus far.
NBC notes that Saturday’s “SNL” drew a 6.1 overnight household rating; and that it posted a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating in the 25 markets with local people meters.

On a side note, SNL should really do more with cast member Sasheer Zamata. She's more of a filler and not really utilized for her comedic skills. If you remember, she was the black cast member who made news for being employed on the show a few years ago after their was criticism for SNL not hiring black cast members. Then, SNL writer Leslie Jones was added and she pretty much stole the laughs from Zamata.

But we digress.

Did you all see the skit? It was pure perfection and really gives a current look of how black people in America relate to life's experiences and  and how universal those experiences are to non-back people.

Looks like folks love Madea last weekend as Tyler Perry;s alter ego's film, Boo! A Madea Halloween won the box office for the weekend of October 21-23, racking up $27.6 million from more than 2,000 North American theaters, and defeating Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.  From reports, Madea’s substantial opening weekend gave Perry his best showing in six years as a director, and his most diverse audience yet: Previous installments in his Madea series brought out 80-90 percent black audiences, while for Boo! that percentage dropped to 60.

Well, looks like Madea is alive and well and we are sure to expect more holiday themed films with Madea--Perry has yet to do a Thanksgiving movie (he's done a Christmas one already) so get ready for Tyler Perry Presents: Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving. LOL

Did you all catch SNL throw shade at Boo during Black Jeopardy when the question was asked that this film was in conversation by black people  that the film should be nominated for an Oscar.  Hilarious!

UPDATE:  BOO was No. 1 again for a second week raking in another 20 plus million  at the Box Office over the Halloween weekend  with a total of $50 million.

The Beyhive is not happy over  comedian Amy Schumer's parody of Beyonce's  Formation video .Amy Schumer is defending herself against criticism directed toward her this week following the release of a music video in which she and some celebrity friends pay homage to Beyonce's "Formation."
From reports,  Schumer said the video she made was "NEVER a parody."
"It was just us women celebrating each other," Schumer wrote. "The video Beyoncé made was so moving and I wouldn't ever make fun of that. There is absolutely no way to."
The video also featured Goldie Hawn, Wanda Sykes, Joan Cusack and Raven Goodwin.
In it, the comedian lip-syncs and dances to "Formation" while she and the other women were on location shooting a film together.
It first debuted on Tidal, the music streaming service owned by Beyoncé's husband, Jay Z, last week. Schumer had Beyoncé's blessing to do the video. She confirmed that information in her essay.

After the video's release, Schumer was accused of cultural appropriation on social media and was lambasted for appearing to make light of the racial politics addressed in Beyonce's video.
On Twitter, critics used #AmySchumerGottaGoParty to express their distaste with the video.
"I am of course horrified and sickened by the events that are addressed throughout that [Beyoncé's] video and didn't see this [Schumer's video] as minimizing that and still don't. It was a way to celebrate bringing us all together," Schumer wrote.
Here's the thing, we think the video would have been fine,  but when Beyonce talks about being proud of her Negro nostrils and other black based topics in the song it looks extremely racially insensitive with white women dancing and lipping to those lyrics (having Sykes lipping too we guess balanced out the possible controversy).
Other than that, the video itself was OK.  And Beyonce was Ok with her doing it so that's that.
But more crazy is how is Goldie Hawn who is in her 70s look way younger than Schumer who is in her 30s???? Insane!

The View's Raven Symone reported this week that she will exit the ABC daytime talker before the end of this year. She wants  to leave NYC where the show is taped and move back to L.A. to return to acting. Word is, she’s going to begin with a sequel series to her famous Disney Channel hit That’s So Raven that she will star and exec produce. Well, will she be missed? Not really...well, at least she sported fancy colorful hair to the table. LOL

Raptor Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) is on a roll these days. He can be seen currently in his FX hit Atlanta  and this week he was booked to play Lando Calrissian in the Hans Solo prequel film slated for 2018. And it has been reported that he is in talks to join the cast of the reboot of Marvel Comic;s Spider-man Homecoming.  So do you think Glover was the best choice to play Lando? Eh, we are not too convinced,. As you already know, Lando was played by the very debonair and suave actor Billy Dee Williams in 1980. But is Glover that guy?  We will see. He comes across more geek chic than suave.  It would have been nice if say Trey Byers from Empire or even rapper Common. Oh well.

Lifetime struck ratings gold when it aired Michele's bipic: Surviving Compton breaking all Lifetime TV records. So you know it wouldnt be far that the center of the film, singer Michel'le would receive more offers from the success.  From reports,  she  has a signed a new deal. with Thinkfactory Media (who produced the biopic) for possible shopping  of  a docuseries which would  feature Michel’le and her family. The unscripted series would give viewers a look to her life as she battles to overcome her past, and move into the next chapter of her life and career. She also is slated to release a new album in January, and is also currently penning her autobiography.

Congrats to Chris Rock who received a $40 plus million deal with Netflix to shoot two comedy specials.

After an eight-year absence, the specials from reports is the biggest deal ,  more than such A-list comedians as Louis C.K., Jerry Seinfeld and Amy Schumer have commanded.
The first Rock show will tape in 2017 and follow a new world tour that is currently being planned. It's unclear when either that first show will air or when the second will tape and be rolled out.
We guess Rock was seeing how Kevin Hart is getting comfortable as the black comic superstar and decided to dust off his mic and get back in the game.  Oh and on  sidenote, did you all know that Rock gave Tyler Perry the idea to do Boo after Rock mentioned the film title as a joke on his comedy mockumentary Top Five a few years back.
RIP BITZ

We lost Chicago native and Legendary DJ, Herb Kent aka King of the Dusties. He was 88 years old.

FIT BITZ

This week we feature  model/actor Curtis Hamilton who's getting rave reviews for his role as Dr Dre in the Lifetime biopic Surviving Compton. And as you see, the actor from Kentucky keeps his frame in tip top shape and is definitely eye candy for all to swoon over.

This week we feature FOTUS Michelle Obama First Lady Michelle Obama  who looks absolutely stunning as one of seven women who graces the special edition of The New York Times’ style magazine, T this weel. The cover stars are touted as “The Greats” who are redefining our culture.who looks abosultely stunning on the cover. And Mrs Obama is definitely a definer with her style, class and beauty.

WORDZ TO THE WHYZ

Why
WORDZ TO THE WHYZ.  Why are social media calling Ciara a ho for getting pregnant by her husband? Why is Future bragging on social media that he and Scottie Pippen's wife have been smashing? Why is Kanye all in his feelings at a recent concert blasting Jay Z for not being on a Drake record he produced coming to see Kim K during her robbery? Why did  Justin Timberlake post a ballot selfie of him voting?  Why did  Jaheim perm his hair? And why does he want to fight Charlamagne the God for making him the Donkey of the Day for his hair? Why is Mary J Blige husband want her to pay for child support over children she didnt bore? Why is Suge knight suing Dr Dre now  for threatening to kill him during Death Row days?  Why did Trick Daddy say black women gotta step their game up like other non-black women? And why do baggers bag non food items separate from food items?

HERRE's THIS WEEKS  SPOT BITZ

Well, we are sure everyone has either watched or streamed or saw clips of the second debate that was held last Sunday at Washington University in St Louis. Over 60 million saw it live, compared to 80 million who saw the first debate, but this one was much much much more reality show meets Celebrity Death Match without the claymation.

The former Apprentice host and the former Secretary of State duked it out in verbal rounds with Trump attacking Hillary's character and husband's philandering and Hillary attacking his lack of fact talking. It was entertaining yet quite embarrassing especially when Trump pulled out his trump card and brought in four women during a surprise press conference before the debate who were either molested or raped by Bill Clinton. That was low.

This election isnt about Bill. Its about Hillary (mainly saying she condoned it). From our understanding a media outlet leaked the tapes of Trump's lewd comments about women not Hillary, so Trump brought a gun to fist fight. Overall, nothing was accomplished and for undecided voters who were in the audience should see that if Trump is definitely not the one to lead the country. We will see how Saturday Night Live will parody this fiasco on tomorrow.

Folk singer Bob Dylan received a Nobel Peace Prize in

Literature on Thursday.

The 75-year-old won the prize "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition," the Swedish Academy said.
The surprise announcement marks the first time the award has gone to someone who is mainly seen as a musician.
"For 54 years he has been at it, reinventing himself," said Sara Danius, the academy's permanent secretary
Minnesota-born Dylan is the first American to win the prize for literature since Toni Morrison in 1993.

Rapper Drake dominated nominations for the American Music Awards, earning a leading 13 nominations and beating the record set by Michael Jackson more than 30 years ago, the organizers of the awards announced on Monday.

R&B artist Rihanna got seven nominations, followed by  Adele and   Justin Bieber with five apiece. Beyonce,  got four nods.
Drake’s 13 nominations smashed the record set by Jackson in 1984 when he received 11 American Music Award nods at the height of the success of his album “Thriller.”
Winners will be announced at a live ceremony and television show on Nov. 20 in Los Angeles and air on ABC.

The winners will be chosen again by online poll. We will do a predictions list on Nov 18.

Singer Solange scored her first No. 1 album on the Billboard

200 chart this week, as her latest release, A Seat at the

 Table, arrives atop the tally.

A Seat at the Table launches with 72,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 6, according to Nielsen Music -- a stronger-than-expected start. Of that sum, 46,000 were in traditional album sales.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
As Solange and her sister Beyonce have now both earned No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, they are among the few pairs of solo siblings to have scored No. 1s. Previously, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson managed the feat, as did Master P and his brother Silkk the Shocker.

Congrats to Solange for this feat. For we are sure it is extremely hard to shine when a sibling is constantly in the spotlight but akin to Michael to Janet, she has the possibility of becoming a music star as well if she can maintain the longevity.

"The Birth of a Nation" did not meet expectations at the Box Office raking in 7 million and coming in at No.6. Many pundits are saying there are several reasons why the movie didnt do well as expected.
1.The director Nate Parker did not apologize for the rape charge that he was acquitted of during the press tour.

2.Black feminists rallied to not support the movie because of Parker's past with the rape charge.

3.The movie has several fallacies of history mainly that the black women in the film were used as rape victims and the incentive for the main character Nat Turner to start the rebellion as opposed to the evils of slavery in general.

Our thing is, regardless of why it didnt do well, the movie was "based on a true story," so that means that the film will take liberties to tell the story. Hollywood does this all the time, even with historical based films.   But we think that it was planned to try and sabotage the film with the rape charge. The charge was years ago and Parker has been in many films prior to "Nation" so why now? Also, the film shouldnt be the only film to represent Nat Turner but if Fox Pictures doesnt coup its interest of 17 million, do not expect Hollywood to make another history based film based on an African American.

This week's episode of Empire "Cupid Kills" had the most creepiest scene of all of its seasons when Andre (played by Trai Byers) was coaxed into having sex with singer Nessa (played by Sierra McClain) by his dead wife/ghost Rhonda (played by Kaitlin Doubleday) after his reluctance to pursue the singer. When Rhonda joined in on the sex play it became a "paranormenage-trois." It was so way out left field and an somewhat comical in the execution. It was also the most tweeted moment of the week. So the question is, how are they going to top this moment with ghost Rhonda?

Will the 108 year losing streak be broken this month? Looks

like the Chicago Cubs may be a contender in the World

Series when the team advanced to the National League

Championships when they defeated the SF Giants 6 to 5 .

Now the Cubs are set to play the Los Angeles Dodgers  and

they will travel to Wrigley Field for Game 1 of the series on

 Saturday night.

There was an opening night ceremony that linked the original 1967-68 St. Louis Blues team to the present day club that kicked off the franchise’s 50th anniversary season on Thursday at Scottrade Center. The team won  3-2 over the Minnesota Wild only enhanced the already electric atmosphere on a night that officially kicked off another hockey season in St. Louis.
Five players reportedly from the original Blues that took the ice 50 years ago at the old St. Louis Arena received loud standing ovations, none louder than the one for Blues fan favorite and former defenseman Bob Plager.

A St Louis veteran journalist is about to sign off for good soon. After more than 45 years of reporting and anchoring thousands of news stories, Betsey Bruce will call it quits Dec. 16.Bruce,who is currently a reporter on Fox 2 KTVI,  was the first woman to report news on a daily basis locally and appears to be the longest-serving television journalist in local history.

RIP BITZ.....This week we lost actor/comedian Thomas Mikal Ford who died of a stomach aneurysm after knee replacement surgery. He was 52.

FIT BITZ

This week we feature Trai Byers, star of the hit show Empire, who recently showed his abs in a recent issue of Bleu Magazine  where he was also  on the cover. With so much emphasis on his body (specifically his buttocks), and trending with the female and ghost sex scene on this week's  episode of Empire, has definitely given much attention to fans to the handsome actor,

This week we feature Solange who is making news with her third album, "A Seat at The Table" debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Album Chart. Always a trendsetter, Solange also makes news for her fashion choices including her recent apprerance at the this years Met Gala where she wore a bright yellow ensemble with spandex stirrup pants and heels. The singer took a unique approach to this year’s theme embracing technology in fashion with a mix of materials and unique construction.
