HERRE's THIS WEEKS  SPOT BITZ

Well, we are sure everyone has either watched or streamed or saw clips of the second debate that was held last Sunday at Washington University in St Louis. Over 60 million saw it live, compared to 80 million who saw the first debate, but this one was much much much more reality show meets Celebrity Death Match without the claymation.

The former Apprentice host and the former Secretary of State duked it out in verbal rounds with Trump attacking Hillary's character and husband's philandering and Hillary attacking his lack of fact talking. It was entertaining yet quite embarrassing especially when Trump pulled out his trump card and brought in four women during a surprise press conference before the debate who were either molested or raped by Bill Clinton. That was low.

This election isnt about Bill. Its about Hillary (mainly saying she condoned it). From our understanding a media outlet leaked the tapes of Trump's lewd comments about women not Hillary, so Trump brought a gun to fist fight. Overall, nothing was accomplished and for undecided voters who were in the audience should see that if Trump is definitely not the one to lead the country. We will see how Saturday Night Live will parody this fiasco on tomorrow.

Folk singer Bob Dylan received a Nobel Peace Prize in

Literature on Thursday.

The 75-year-old won the prize "for having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition," the Swedish Academy said.
The surprise announcement marks the first time the award has gone to someone who is mainly seen as a musician.
"For 54 years he has been at it, reinventing himself," said Sara Danius, the academy's permanent secretary
Minnesota-born Dylan is the first American to win the prize for literature since Toni Morrison in 1993.

Rapper Drake dominated nominations for the American Music Awards, earning a leading 13 nominations and beating the record set by Michael Jackson more than 30 years ago, the organizers of the awards announced on Monday.

R&B artist Rihanna got seven nominations, followed by  Adele and   Justin Bieber with five apiece. Beyonce,  got four nods.
Drake’s 13 nominations smashed the record set by Jackson in 1984 when he received 11 American Music Award nods at the height of the success of his album “Thriller.”
Winners will be announced at a live ceremony and television show on Nov. 20 in Los Angeles and air on ABC.

The winners will be chosen again by online poll. We will do a predictions list on Nov 18.

Singer Solange scored her first No. 1 album on the Billboard

200 chart this week, as her latest release, A Seat at the

 Table, arrives atop the tally.

A Seat at the Table launches with 72,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 6, according to Nielsen Music -- a stronger-than-expected start. Of that sum, 46,000 were in traditional album sales.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
As Solange and her sister Beyonce have now both earned No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, they are among the few pairs of solo siblings to have scored No. 1s. Previously, Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson managed the feat, as did Master P and his brother Silkk the Shocker.

Congrats to Solange for this feat. For we are sure it is extremely hard to shine when a sibling is constantly in the spotlight but akin to Michael to Janet, she has the possibility of becoming a music star as well if she can maintain the longevity.

"The Birth of a Nation" did not meet expectations at the Box Office raking in 7 million and coming in at No.6. Many pundits are saying there are several reasons why the movie didnt do well as expected.
1.The director Nate Parker did not apologize for the rape charge that he was acquitted of during the press tour.

2.Black feminists rallied to not support the movie because of Parker's past with the rape charge.

3.The movie has several fallacies of history mainly that the black women in the film were used as rape victims and the incentive for the main character Nat Turner to start the rebellion as opposed to the evils of slavery in general.

Our thing is, regardless of why it didnt do well, the movie was "based on a true story," so that means that the film will take liberties to tell the story. Hollywood does this all the time, even with historical based films.   But we think that it was planned to try and sabotage the film with the rape charge. The charge was years ago and Parker has been in many films prior to "Nation" so why now? Also, the film shouldnt be the only film to represent Nat Turner but if Fox Pictures doesnt coup its interest of 17 million, do not expect Hollywood to make another history based film based on an African American.

This week's episode of Empire "Cupid Kills" had the most creepiest scene of all of its seasons when Andre (played by Trai Byers) was coaxed into having sex with singer Nessa (played by Sierra McClain) by his dead wife/ghost Rhonda (played by Kaitlin Doubleday) after his reluctance to pursue the singer. When Rhonda joined in on the sex play it became a "paranormenage-trois." It was so way out left field and an somewhat comical in the execution. It was also the most tweeted moment of the week. So the question is, how are they going to top this moment with ghost Rhonda?

Will the 108 year losing streak be broken this month? Looks

like the Chicago Cubs may be a contender in the World

Series when the team advanced to the National League

Championships when they defeated the SF Giants 6 to 5 .

Now the Cubs are set to play the Los Angeles Dodgers  and

they will travel to Wrigley Field for Game 1 of the series on

 Saturday night.

There was an opening night ceremony that linked the original 1967-68 St. Louis Blues team to the present day club that kicked off the franchise’s 50th anniversary season on Thursday at Scottrade Center. The team won  3-2 over the Minnesota Wild only enhanced the already electric atmosphere on a night that officially kicked off another hockey season in St. Louis.
Five players reportedly from the original Blues that took the ice 50 years ago at the old St. Louis Arena received loud standing ovations, none louder than the one for Blues fan favorite and former defenseman Bob Plager.

A St Louis veteran journalist is about to sign off for good soon. After more than 45 years of reporting and anchoring thousands of news stories, Betsey Bruce will call it quits Dec. 16.Bruce,who is currently a reporter on Fox 2 KTVI,  was the first woman to report news on a daily basis locally and appears to be the longest-serving television journalist in local history.

RIP BITZ.....This week we lost actor/comedian Thomas Mikal Ford who died of a stomach aneurysm after knee replacement surgery. He was 52.

FIT BITZ

This week we feature Trai Byers, star of the hit show Empire, who recently showed his abs in a recent issue of Bleu Magazine  where he was also  on the cover. With so much emphasis on his body (specifically his buttocks), and trending with the female and ghost sex scene on this week's  episode of Empire, has definitely given much attention to fans to the handsome actor,

This week we feature Solange who is making news with her third album, "A Seat at The Table" debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard Album Chart. Always a trendsetter, Solange also makes news for her fashion choices including her recent apprerance at the this years Met Gala where she wore a bright yellow ensemble with spandex stirrup pants and heels. The singer took a unique approach to this year’s theme embracing technology in fashion with a mix of materials and unique construction.
