As reported by the Inquisitr, fans of the Fox TV show called Empire can rest assured that they are not cancelled, despite rumors floating around the web from fake news websites saying that the second season of Empire was cancelled due to producer salary issues. Now stars of the runaway hit show are weighing in on Twitter, too, telling their fans not to worry about the cancellation hoax rumors.
When Jovon Lee (@LeeJovon) asked Jussie Smollett if the second season of Empire was really cancelled, Smollett responded on Twitter that it was indeed a hoax.

Additionally, the @EmpireFOX Twitter account responded when Jayme Hoffman expressed her disappointment at hearing rumors of the cancellation. Hoffman even offered to start a petition to bring the second season of the show back to TV.

According to Gossip Cop, the rumors about the second season of Empire being cancelled were perhaps begun by a site called the New York Times News, which has nothing to do with the New York Times. Indeed, the Facebook page for the hoax news site shows the story titled “Fox Cancels The Hit Show Empire Just After 1 Season!” has been shared on Facebook nearly 6,000 times — and the blog post on their website claims to have been viewed more than 130,000 times.
Folks are still tweeting up a storm about the Empire cancellation rumors, with some people realizing it’s a hoax, whilst others think it’s true. The Twitter account of Taraji P. Henson has yet to address the cancellation rumors as of this time.
Not only is the second season of Empire in full swing — with Empire producer Brian Grazer hoping to land Eminem on Season 2 of the show, according to Billboard, — there’s also lots of buzz online about which stars may appear. Kanye West told fans that if you see his latest routine on Empire, you’ll know he did it first.

Rap superstar Kanye West reportedly stunned a crowd of dignitaries Tuesday with a performance art-infused 20-minute set at the annual TIME 100 gala honoring the most influential people in the world.
Bathed in an orange-yellow light and flanked by several shirtless men covered in white chalk, West reportedly took the stage to James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” before kicking his set off with his new single “All Day,” from his upcoming album, So Help Me God.
He followed with three tracks from 2013’s Yeezus — “Black Skinhead,” “New Slaves” and Amy Schumer favorite “Blood on the Leaves” — before moving on to “Runaway” and “Only One,” which was inspired by his late mother and his daughter with wife Kim Kardashian, who was also in attendance.
He reportedly closed out his set with a few of his older favorites, such as “Good Life” and “Gold Digger,” but stopped “Touch the Sky” midway and asked everyone in the audience to get on their feet before he continued.

And in more Ye newz, he and wife Kim Kardashian have been authorized to proceed with their lawsuit against YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, a California appeals court ruled Wednesday.According to an AP report, Hurley posted footage of West’s 2013 proposal to Kardashian—which took place at San Francisco’s AT&T Park—on his website MixBit despite having a confidentiality agreement in place. The leak appeared before the proposal aired on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
The couple filed the suit in March of 2014, at which point Hurley claimed the confidentiality agreement did not apply to MixBit. Hurley’s lawyer Rodger Cole added that his client’s First Amendment and free speech rights allowed him to have posted the video.
However, the 2nd District court of Appeal in Los Angeles declared that some of Hurley’s suit “lacks merit,” and West and Kardashian could win a case based on claims of fraud, unjust enrichment, and breach of contract.
Kansas City, Mo native and Emmy Award winning actor/former SAG president Ed Asner will be very busy on TV projects this year. He recently was seen on On Criminal Minds, playing Hotch's (Thomas Gibson) father-in law, Roy Brooks, who's been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. It's Asner's second guest appearance this year on CBS. He recently played a perverted liberal billionaire on The Good Wife.
According to imdb.com, the 85-year-old actor has 12 more projects lined up for 2015. The talk these days with Nelly is no doubt his recent arrest on drug charges on his tour bus and his hearing on June 19 during the middle of this tour. His attorneys are saying he will be exonerated of all charges, but if he isn't then we wonder what the tour managers will do as far as his spot on the tour. Only time will tell. Jazz aficionado and radio personality Don Wolff will be honored with the Jazz Hero Award April 30 at the Ferring Jazz Bistro in Grand Center. Wolff has been named as one of 24 national "Jazz Heroes" by the Jazz Journalists Association and the first St Lousian to be honored from the association. The event is hosted by Jazz St. Louis and is free and open to the public.

I was going to see if I wanted to risk my life and go to club Society to check out Kyjuan’s B-day party at Club Society. I’m glad I didn’t cause I hear that over 2,000 people were trying to crowd up in the two story club. And that is bananas! I Up in there was Nelly, and Lil Wayne (who performed, but the rest of the guests (Rich Boy, Jim Jones, etc.) couldn’t even get in and I heard they went to the east Side to wreck havoc over at Blackmon’s Plaza and the club over there had to close early (which was about 3 in the morning and it closes at 6 ) . that was too much playin. The rappers were in town for a concert up at Scott Trade center.

Chitown native Jennifer Hudson (PICTURE bywww.nydailynews.com) performed last Thursday at the Fox (as Robin Thicke as the co-headliner who opened the show) to a sold out crowd (SEE OUT 600 FOR PICS) . According to reported sources, the Oscar and Grammy winner performed near hour set singing songs from her debut CD, " including her #1 hit, “Spotlight,” the current single, “If it Isnt Love” and her newest sngle, “Pocketbook” as well as the gospel cut, “You Pulled Me Through” along with movie music from "Dreamgirls" (“ One Night Only,” I Love You I Do” and the finale, “And I AM Telling You”) She also did cover songs by Aretha (“Giving Him Something he Can Feel”) and Chaka (“Sweet Thing.” ) She also had her female cousins as her background singers who also got a chance to perform. At the start of her show, she quickly thanked fans for helping pull her through her family tragedy in Chicago last October . But the buzz that was goin’ on was whether she was preggo. With some of the outfifts she wore, her midsection could have been showing a possible bump. Oh and neither Hudson or Thicke attended any afterparties in town. On Saturday, she returned to her hometown to perform at the Arie Crown Theatre. There, she was reportedly just a few minutes away from where her mother, brother and nephew were murdered six months ago. The Chicago stop comes at the end of the first leg of Hudson's first roughly six-week, 19-city tour. It is her first tour.

Legendary St. Louis Cardinals player Lou Brock and his wife, Jacqueline, was on hand to the unveiling of his likeness in a bronze statue form at Lindenwood University
Brock said he hopes that students will be inspired to work hard when they walk past the statue. "One of the greatest attributes in competition is to be able to outlast your opponent," he said. "If you can't outlast your opponent, you'll be in second place."

Rocker and gun advocate Ted Nugent came under scrutiny after making incendiary comments about the U.S. St Louis
He said "If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," he said. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil, America-hating administration, I don't even know what you're made of."
In response to Nugent's remarks, Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary in a statement, "We are aware of the incident with Ted Nugent, and we are conducting appropriate follow-up."
