THE TOP ILLI MO STORIES THIS WEEK ARE:

Caitlyn Jenner received backlash from the transgender community.
After the I Am Cait star gave a speech during a luncheon in Chicago on Thursday, she was confronted by protesters outside the venue. The 65-year-old former Olympian stopped to address one protester, who over the loudspeaker could be heard saying, “You are an insult to trans people, you are an insult to women.”
Caitlyn spoke to a group of 1,000 people at the 7th annual Speaker Series luncheon for the Chicago House, which provides social services for those impacted by HIV/AIDS and other LGBT issues.
In a video from the altercation, the reality star appears to try and diffuse the protester, before being escorted away by her security.
“The chaos outside was a great contrast to the uplifting atmosphere inside where Caitlyn had just given her speech,” B96 Chicago radio personality Showbiz Shelly, who witnessed the confrontation, tells ET. “I thought she handled the situation with poise. By confronting the protesters in the way she did, she emphasized the themes she talked about in her speech. To be respectful, be brave and stand up for what you believe in.”
The event’s MC, Christina Kahrl, says that Caitlyn was an obvious pick to headline the fundraiser. “The point was to get people to come and talk about trans issues,” Kahrl tells ET. “Because she’s been the subject of media scrutiny for decades, she’s in a unique position to take whatever criticism she gets for speaking out on behalf of trans people who need help. She owns the fact that she has a ton of privilege.”
A production source confirms to ET that I Am Cait cameras were rolling at the event for the show’s second season. Caitlyn’s castmates, Candis Cayne, Jenny Boylan, Kate Bornstein, were also in attendance, and Caitlyn sat next to to trans MMA fighter Fallon Fox, whom she met for the first time.
Wow, now if even the LGBT community has an issue with Caitlyn then you know
something is definitely wrong! But is it us, or does it seem as though it was all
planned--especially having reality show cameras there for footage.

Reggie Bush intends to take legal action against the city of St. Louis following the injury he suffered on the concrete strip at the city-owned Edward Jones Dome last Sunday. He may not get his Heisman back, but he could be getting a nice lump sum from the city of St. Louis. Bush suffered the knee injury when he slipped and fell on concrete near the field at the Edward Jones Dome.
Bush was hurt when he ran out of bounds and skidded into a wall when his cleats
struck a concrete strip ringing the stadium. Reggie Bush's football season is over due to
a torn medial collateral ligament (MCL). Bush has retained the services of attorney
Shawn Holley and the KWIKA firm. He's done for the season and here's the reality.
.. he's 30 and injured, so this could bring his career to an end. And it should be a strong
lawsuit, given that the hazard was open and obvious - and had caused Browns
quarterback Josh McCown to slide into a wall only one week earlier.

According to a report from stltoday.com, After being back to work for less than a week, anchor April Simpson and KTVI (Channel 2) seem to have parted ways, in a permanent way.
"April Simpson no longer works here. We wish her well," said station spokesperson Suzi Mahe, who declined to comment further.
Simpson had been the anchor of the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. newscasts and reported stories for evening broadcasts. She has been the subject of news report before, in 2010, when she battled a brain tumor.
Simpson, who returned last Monday from a two-week suspension for undisclosed reasons, engaged Thursday in a verbal exchange that led to this recent job action, sources said.
Simpson admitted that she had taken to referring to an intern, who is part Asian and part black, as "Bruce Leroy."
Simpson said that she was not the only employee to use the moniker, which comes from the 1985 film "The Last Dragon."
When he objected Thursday to the reference, Simpson argued with the intern who then complained to the human resources department, sources said.
Simpson denied arguing with the intern, but when asked for further response, she said, "That's all I have to say. Frankly, I'm shocked by this."
Later Friday night, Simpson called to say the moniker was used in reference to the intern's physical resemblance to the movie character, not to his racial make-up.

As of press time, there was a petition floating around on Facebook to get her job back or people dont watch Fox-2 TV. Our thing is this, teasing on the job is a fine line between that and job harassment. Now, let'sgo back a couple years ago when the viral video was posted of former Fox 2 personality Tim Ezell called Simpson
the Ham-burglar because she wore a white sweater with black horizontal stripes. She was seen shocked and not happy about the name-calling while on air, even when it was all in fun.  So, we are assuming the Bruce Leroy comment to the intern more than likely was just friendly teasing. However, some people
cannot take teasing lightly and take it to heart. Well, this probably was the situation. Now she was suspended for the matter then brought back, then fired after a few days back??? Something had to have
happened for that to occur. Its quite unfortunate
that it came to her being fired.

Baseball Hall of Famer Lou Brock, the National League’s all-time stolen base leader, underwent surgery recently for amputation of his left leg just below the knee. The Oct. 27 surgery for the 76-year-old former St. Louis Cardinals star was necessary because of an infection related to a diabetic condition.  Brock, a source told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, is already taking steps with a walker and will be fitted with a prosthetic leg.

Why did it take Mizzou's football team to raise issues of racism
at the school? And why did that instructor try and stop a reporter from
covering the protests? Why did country singer Jason Aldean have
blackface on as part of his Lil Wayne Halloween costume? Why
are people fat shaming Gabby Sidibe for her sex scene on
Empire? Why hasnt TLC's people funded  September release dated
album have yet to be released? And why dont most fast food speakers
never work properly?
