The Anti  Stacey Dash Campaign is contacting as her

controversial comments about how African Americans

should choose whether to have segregation or integration,

and that BET, BET Awards, Image Awards and Black

History Month should be done away with  if they are asking

for inclusion.

The outrage  has even gotten Presidential  candidate Ben

Carson to even try to explain her comments as to what she

was really meaning to say.

But the cherry on top was when actress

Gabrielle Union, who stars on a BET show, Being Mary

Jane, was asked hers thoughts about Dash's comments and

had temporary amnesia saying who is Stacy Dash.  Major

shade glasses were worn indeed. LOL

She said to the Associated Press , “Who is Stacy Dash?....The more that we focus on inclusion and a true representation of this country, I think that crazy lady will have less to say.”
Union’s words caused #WhoIsStaceyDash to trend on Twitter and Facebook.
We wonder if Dash thought that her comments would cause such an uproar especially among  popular opinion with African Americans on social media. She has been a commentator on Fox and Friends for awhile now and although this hasn't been the first time her opinions have caused head scratching responses, but her recent comments is almost repudiating even causing her to go to her blog to explain herself.
We think Dash has committed career suicide (and thats not saying much since her last real job was on The Game which was on....ah BET), and we cannot see her trying to redeem herself with the base that has kept her relevant as an ultrasexy  black female. But the Who Is Stacy Dash hashtag is just the beginning of the media storm. Lets just hope she doesnt try to present on the Image Awards to try and redeem herself. That would be a boooooo fest indeed.

Also riding the media storm is Janet Hubert aka Aunt Viv of

The Fresh Prince who was interviewed by a reporter at The

Huffington Post about her viral video rant about Jada Pinkett

Smith's boycott video of  the Oscars.. Of her post viral

interviews she has said that Will and Jada should focus on

giving back to the black community, hire African Americans

as writers at their production company and where Will was

when Jada had done her boycott video. Well many

commentors have said that Hubert is out of touch as to the

causes that the Smith;s have done and continuing to do and

that her rant, although may have some validity, all stems

from Will Smith shading her when she asked him to help her

and other cast from Fresh Prince about getting raises in

salary.

Bottom line is this--if it was say, any other Hollywood couple--

-black or white---we are sure she wouldnt have "went there"

about the Oscar boycott. It is very obvious that Hubert is

using this platform to voice her problems not with the

Oscars, not with the community, but her problem with Will

Smith and wanting to be heard about it.

If not, then she wouldnt accept being on TV and video podcasts talking about it.

To peep the interview she had done for Huffington Post about Will Smith's acting in Concussion go to

In other Aunt Viv newz, now Hubert is talking on Nene Leakes. Hubert is chiming in on Leakes' Broadway success in Cinderella and is set to return and some more time performing on Broadway in the upcoming Chicago.

She said  “Did you know NeNe Leakes made it on Broadway before Janet Hubert? Something’s wrong with the whole system of bad behavior being rewarded. I think in the black community, ratchet has became the new black, ghetto has become the new black.”

Well, Ms Hubert how about green is the new black. And Nene is a money drawer and thats its all about selling tickets. We can respect her opinion and again, has validity, but in the entertainment game, if you are deemed difficult or too opinionated and unfortunately, not being part of the circle that hires, you wont get opportunities. But we see that Hubert is trying to milk her moment in the spotlight with her opinions (kind of reminiscent of Bill Cosby's opinions of the black community). '

And we can can just imagine what Leakes is saying---"Girl bye."LOL

And speaking of Leakes, What is this about Bravo TV

requesting...more like forcing Nene Leakes to return to The

Real Housewives of Atlanta next year, Thats what the reports

are churning. Its apparent that the addition of actress Kim

Fields was a bizarre move and her screen time shows her

being aloof among the ratchetness of the Housewives,

Well, Leakes appearance on the show recently caused the

ratings to increase which has caused execs to summons

Leakes back to her old stomping grounds. Well, Leakes is

all  about expanding her brand namely her commentating on

the  Fashion Police and her fashion line.

Leakes is reportedly refusing to come back to the reality

series, and as a punishment, NBC Universal -- the parent

company of Bravo and E! -- is threatening to cut her

involvement from E!'s "Fashion Police."

Well. as they say, everyone has a price, but the way Nene

keep sayng Im rich, bitch, we are sure she wont be saying

no to the extra coin. LOL

The Lifetime Movie event Unbreak My Heart led the cable rankings last Saturday with a 1.3 rating and 3.62 million viewers. Lifetime also says it was the top original movie on cable among its target female viewers since “Whitney” a year ago. The “Beyond the Headlines” special following the movie also scored well, earning a 1.0.

The movie was good based on the parameters of a two hour basic cable movie. The actress who played Toni  (Lex Scott Davis PICTURED with actor Gavin Houston) was OK. The main problem was that, her "singing acting" was a bit mousy. For those who are familiar with Braxton's stage persona, she has  emotive gesturing whereas Davis' pantomiming fell a bit flat. The two highlights however were Debbi Morgan and Gavin Houston who played the Braxton matriarch Evelyn and producer Babyface. Morgan gave a well acted performance (the infidelity scene with her husband was spine chilling) and Houston's laid back performance and spot on resemblance to the producer gave life to the film (Is it us or did the film insinuate that Braxton and Babyface may have had a relationship?)
Directed by actor Vonde Curtis Hall (who co starred with Morgan in Eve's Bayou by the way), Unbreak's main problem was cramming facts with the limited amount of time. Like one Twitter comment from a viewer wrote: "One minute she was signed to a contract and less than an hour she was bankrupt." It was in a way like a visual version of skimming and page turning her memoir just to get to the end of her story.
With the ratings success of Unbreak (preceding the success of Aaliyah, TLC and the Whitney films) we wouldnt doubt if Lifetime, if not already, has developed a black female biopic department.
Its Cam Nation. The North Carolina Panther quarterback is about to head to the Super Bowl on Feb 7 when he goes head to head with the elder statesman quarterback Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos. This is the perfect match for the football audiences: the young verses old; new school vs old school; black vs white.  He in a way is the Muhammad Ali of football right now: outspoken, brash, charming and in your face and mainstream media cant handle it especially those who can't stand Newton's hot dog antics. But we hope Newton and his team are victorious next Sunday and get to go to Disney World. LOL

There is talk around at this year's Sundance Film festival of

the slave revolt film about Nat Turner--Birth of  A nation  that

was financed, directed and acted by  Nate

Parker. Not only has it received rave reviews from critics, it

has also received Oscar buzz for next year. Also, it made

news for it making history of being bought by Fox Searchlight

for distribution rights for 17 million.

To get the rights, Fox Searchlight agreed to release “The Birth of a Nation” at some point this year on at least 1,500 screens, Variety has learned. That wide a release can require spending as much as $15 million on promotion and advertising. Again, however, Fox Searchlight executives believed that they might be able to save on some of the spending. News of the historic nature of the deal has resulted in extensive media coverage that has raised awareness. A release date hasn’t even been decided on, but the story of the film and Parker’s drive to make the picture have been picked up by most major news outlets — a rarity for Sundance releases.

Netflix offered $20 million for “The Birth of a Nation,” but sources say that Parker was turned off by the idea of premiering the film on the streaming platform at the same time as it theatrical debut, a model that the company used to release last year’s “Beasts of No Nation.” That film failed to make much of an impact at the box office, although the company claims it was streamed by millions of subscribers.(Interestingly enough, Byron Allen’s Entertainment Studios even offered $20 million),
Other sources add that Parker, who owned a significant stake in the movie, had a great deal of control over who emerged as the winning distributor.

We can predict now that next year's Oscars will definitely nominated this film for Best Picture (if not win) and have Parker nominated for Best Actor (and, gulp, even win.)

Is Marlon Wayans become the new spoof movie king? This weekend his spoof on the soft porn flick, 50 Shades of Grey, that is opening this weekend, is cementing his niche in the spoofploitation genre that his older brother Keenan was crowned back when he came on the scene directing the blackploitation genre with Im Gonna Get You Sucka in 1988. Marlon's reign started writing Dance Flick (that starred his nephew Damon Wayans II), in 2009 spoofing dance films; then the Haunted House in 2013, with horror films and its sequel in 2015. And most of his films are released in January during the season that Hollywood term "filler films" where movies that Hollywood execs release without much expectation financially. Well, Wayans has proved that money can be generated during this movie season and we are sure Shades will be another box office winner for the comedic actor.

St Louis is back in the news  as far as a new stadium. After the St Louis Rams move and the scrapping of the Riverfront Stadium plans as a last resort move to keep the team in St  Louis. Well, some of the lawmakers in Missouri who were for the new Ram stadium are supporting  for an expansion MLS team.

According to reports, State Rep. Keith English of Florissant, Mo. has introduced legislation that would put a tax of not more than one-tenth of one percent on the ballot in St. Louis and St. Louis County. A green light from voters could generate between $10 million and $15 million annually. Missouri Governor Jay Nixon is also supporting this bill as well. The plan is calling for a facility near Union Station in downtown St. Louis.

Meanwhile, Space Architecture + Design  have designed sketches of this proposed stadium adjacent to Union Station in the area that is now used  as a parking lot. It has had the designs for two years.

Wow, what a concept--have the people vote on how their money will be spent. In hindsight, and from opinionmakers, if the voters for their taxes to be raised for the building of the Riverfront Stadium, that it wouldnt have passed and the last trump card to keep the Rams in the city would have been folded, But as seen, the Rams left anyway and the city still has a mutlimillion bill to pay on the Edward Jones Stadium, the Rams old football home and a reported $16 million was spent of the city;s money for planners to research and create phase developments for the Riverfront Stadium that's down the drain. Now the question is, will the soccer stadium bill pass? We will see.

We are still stanning on the trio group KING. Three black, natural hair young ladies who was discovered by Prince on YOUTUBE and opened for him in 2011. Well, they have announced their promo tour on their FB page. One coming Feb 11 in Evanston, Ill. at The Space. To see their tour schedule go to https://www.facebook.com/weareKING/?fref=ts.

                                                                        FIT BITZ

This week we feature  ATL native Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton who has modeled for various campaigns, one being Under Armour. His very fit frame we are sure helped the company  sign him quick and fast! After his endorsement, the Under Armour brand of products have skyrocketed.

This week we feature Maryland native singer Toni Braxton who rocked teh red carpet in this white train  Marc Bauer  evening gown and a beuatiful sequins embellished front that she wore at last year's Grammy Awards red carpet. The same look that was mimicked on her Unbreak My Heart biopic.

WORD TO THE WHYZ????

Why did Kanye go on a Twitter rant about Wiz Khalifa's comment of having some KK when Wiz was talking about weed and not Kim?  And speaking of Kim, why is she and her sisters so against their brother Rob dating Black Chyna? Why  did the GOP candidates talk more  about Trump than the issues at the last  Trumpless debate before the Iowa Caucus? Why cant the city of Flint change the pipes to get clean water? Why  was a white British actor cast to play Michael Jackson in a comedy film about his trip cross country with Liz Taylor and Marlon Brando after 9/11?  And Why did they have that actress playing Towanda Braxton in pigtails the whole movie?

If you have a fitness pic, a style pic or an artist or event you

would like featured on SPOT BITZ, email to

snaphoney2011@gmail.com!
