The Cleveland Cavaliers outscored the Golden State Warriors 115-101 in Game 6 on Thursday night in Cleveland to even this unpredictable series and force a decisive Game 7 in Oakland's Oracle Arena for Sunday's decisive game.
One more win and they'll become the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, and more importantly, give title-starved Cleveland its first major sports championship since Dec. 27, 1964.

This year's Tony Awards that aired on CBS this past Sunday set a new benchmark in diversity, thanks in large part to big winner “Hamilton.” The show saw all four musical acting awards (lead actor, lead actress, featured actor and featured actress) go to black actors for the first time of the ceremony’s history.
Three of those awards went to Broadway hit “Hamilton,” which has been heralded specifically for its diverse cast: Leslie Odom, Jr. (lead actor), Daveed Diggs (featured actor) and Renee Elise Goldsberry (featured actress) took home the prizes. “The Color Purple” broke “Hamilton’s” streak by winning Cynthia Erivo lead actress, but the fact remains: the 70th edition of Broadway’s biggest night made history.
Many of the rest of the nominees in the aforementioned categories were diverse as well, including the featured actor slate, which included Christopher Jackson of “Hamilton” and Brandon Victor Dixon of “Shuffle Along.”

The Recording Academy announced changes Thursday that will impact the 2017 GRAMMYs, to be presented Feb. 12 in Los Angeles. Streaming-only recordings — released on paid-subscription platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and Tidal but not for sale on iTunes — will now qualify for GRAMMY nominations..
Other changes include the number of categories that GRAMMY members can vote in, which is reduced to 15 from 20. That number doesn’t include the top four categories — album of the year, song of the year, record of the year and best new artist — which all members are allowed to vote in. They were approved last month during the annual board of trustees meeting.

We like the changes that the Grammy board has made

The Best New Artist qualifications are a bit strange saying that any artist can be nominated until they release three albums or 30 singles. So wouldn't they no longer be new artists after they release an album? We just saying.
After the horrific shooting at Orlando's Pulse nightclub that left 49 dead and over 50 injured, people have tried to find a way to cope with the feelings that left them reeling from the senseless killing. Melissa Etheridge was equally heartbroken when she heard the news while on tour, and she told Rolling Stone that she had to write a song in response.
"I'm dealing with it the way I deal, which is, I wrote a song," she said. "I just sat here, and I just started writing a song… That's how I first started to cope because, as a singer songwriter, I feel very... I've done this before. I feel called to speak; to do what musicians do.
"We've been the town criers for hundreds of years. We're mirrors of society. We want to try to make sense. We want to try to heal. We want to bring some meaning, some purpose. We also want to put it down forever in history. That's how I'm coping."

She went into the studio with producer Jerry Wonda on Monday and laid down the track. She said she titled the song "Pulse," after the name of the club, because "there's just something very poetic and very meaningful about the name... You just start thinking about your own pulse. It's the way I've always felt about the gay movement, the gay issue. Here we are – people who are loving; we are fighting for who we want to love."
The anthemic ballad begins with the lines: "Everybody's got a pain inside/ Imaginary wounds they fight to hide/ How can I hate them, when everybody's got a pulse?" and the refrain reinforces the need for unity in the face of hate as it repeats: "I am human; I am love/ And my heart beats with my blood/ Love will always win/ Underneath the skin, everybody's got a pulse."
Perhaps the most chilling moment comes in the stanza in which she seems to be addressing Omar Mateen, the 29-year-old man who killed and injured so many: "Who you gonna hate now?/ When there's no one left but you?/ Who you gonna gun down?/ If you can't kill the truth/ That it's inside of us/ Inside our blood/ Inside our pulse."
The song will be made available for purchase soon and Etheridge says all proceeds will be donated to an LGBT charity.
From reports, TV One saw a major leap in its ratings when the network aired its first feature film Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story. According to the network, the movie – which premiered on June 12 – broke record ratings and became the top original movie in network history. It drew in 2 million unique viewers and was rated as the #1 Ad-Supported Cable Telecast among vital African-American demographic groups.
The film also was the most tweeted live or news telecast on an ad-supported cable network. “Earlier this year, we promised to REPRESENT the best in Black culture and entertainment by elevating new voices and defying expectations,” Brad Siegel, TV One’s President, said in a statement. “The record-breaking success of ‘Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story,’ our first-ever “Unsung” feature film, reflects this commitment. Through brave storytelling, we delivered what our audience craves and deserves.” The week topped off TV One’s highest ratings week of all time.
The film, which features stars Teyonah Parris, Darius McCrary, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and LisaRaye McCoy, delved into the struggles Howard was confronted with over the course of her career, which included a strained relationship with her mother, domestic violence, and drug abuse. The network will air the film again on Saturday, June 18 at 10 p.m. ET and Sunday, June 19 at 6 p.m. ET.
So you all know what that means, more Unsung based movies will be in the works. Whoever had the idea in the TV One board room to create Unsung-based movies was genius.

Former The Voice finalist Christina Grimmie who was killed by an assailant this week during a meet and greet in Orlando, Fla after a performance, She was 22.

Patrick Emory, a former anchor who worked for 33 years in markets like St. Louis, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, has died of natural causes. He was 73. Emory was the main anchor at the station in 1973, left to work at KNXT in Los Angeles where he in 1970, came back to St. Louis in 1976 to work at KSDK, went to work in Philadelphia before working at CNN until 1991 and retired from WFTS in Tampa in 2003.
Threats of a blackout in a dispute between Tribune-owned TV stations and satellite broadcaster Dish came to pass Sunday when KTVI (Channel 2) and KPLR (Channel 11) both went dark for Dish subscribers.
WGN America, also owned by Tribune, was blacked out as well.
Dish blamed Tribune, and vice versa. The dispute involves payment by Dish for retransmission of the Tribune stations' signal. Dish also accuses Tribune of forcing WGN America into a bundle along with local stations.
Both sides said they had offered contract extensions but been turned down.
