THE TOP ILLI-MO STORY THIS WEEK IS:

David Letterman was given a hilarious send-off on
Wednesday by four living U.S. presidents on his final
“Late Show,” with each declaring that “our long
 national nightmare is over.”

It began with archival footage of President Gerald Ford’s

famous remark that “our long national nightmare is

over,” following the resignation of President Richard Nixon.

But then it segued into living presidents Barack

ObamaGeorge Bush,Bill Clinton and George W.

Bush all repeating the line. The bit ended with

Obama saying, “Our long national nightmare is over,”

adding, “Letterman is retiring.” Letterman then stepped into

the frame and said, “you’re just kidding, right?” President Obama then shrugged with a big smirk.

Then, laughter was heard from the audience.

David, you will be missed.

Kanye West (excuse us, Dr. West now) is upset over the censorship of his performance at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. As viewers saw on Sunday, May 17, large portions of the rapper's songs "All Day" and "Black Skinhead" were missing from the broadcast, leading some to wonder whether their audio had gone out.

Now West is speaking out about the show via a statement from his rep, who says he was unfairly silenced.
"Kanye West was grossly over-censored at the Billboard
Music Awards," his rep tells Us Weekly. "Non-profane lyrics
such as 'with my leather black jeans on' were muted for over
30-second intervals. As a result, his voice and performance
 were seriously misrepresented."
The rep adds: "It is ridiculous that in 2015, unwarranted
censorship is something that artists still have to fight against.
Although West was clearly set up to face elements beyond
his control during the live broadcast, he would like to
apologize to the television audience who were unable to
enjoy the performance the way he envisioned."

Unfortunately, censorship wasn't the only thing the rapper
, 37, had to contend with during the BBMAs. A source at the
awards ceremony tells Us that the crowd booed him after his
performance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
We are confused....didnt the producers of the show
already know before hand what he was performing and
knew what parts of each song they wanted to censor?
Thats usually how it goes, unless Ye changed up what
he was performing at the last minute. Who knows but
we are sure Ye knew what to expect.

In other Ye newz,
HITS Daily Double claims that the release date for Kanye West’s upcoming album, titled Swish, might be timed to coincide in some way with the upcoming launch of Apple Music. If this is indeed the case, it stands to reason that Kanye’s new album may very well be an Apple Music exclusive at launch.
“Kanye West is making changes, distancing himself from Tidal, firing Roc Nation and managing himself, with an unofficial assist from the Jenner-Kardashian clan,” the report claims. “As for Kanye’s long-delayed album, there’s some chatter that the release will be connected to Apple Music’s launch.”
As far as rumors go, this one is a bit out there, but not entirely unbelievable. Though Kanye helped promote the launch of his pal Jay Z’s Tidal music service this past March, he curiously deleted all of his tweets mentioning the service just a few weeks ago.
While that by itself isn’t a whole lot to go on, there have been a number of reports over the past few weeks indicating that Apple is working extremely hard behind the scenes to secure major exclusives ahead of its Apple Music launch, set to be unveiled at WWDC on June 6.
Well guess we will see June 6 on where the album will be streamed.

ADD: Mizzou alum and former St Louis Rams hopeful
Michael Sam is taking his football dreams to Canada.
The Montreal Alouettes have signed the defensive end, and Sam will participate in their upcoming training camp, one of his agents, Joe Barkett, told USA TODAY Sports Friday.
Like most Canadian Football League rookies, Sam received a one-year deal with a team option for 2016, though it’s not uncommon for teams to let players out of the option year to pursue an NFL job if they have the opportunity.
The Alouettes confirmed the deal Friday morning on their website. Sam, who is 25, will be introduced at a media conference Tuesday in Montreal.
“I am very excited and proud to join the Montreal Alouettes and want to thank team Owner Robert Wetenhall, General Manager Jim Popp and Head Coach Tom Higgins for this opportunity,” Sam said in a statement through the team. “I cannot wait to put on the pads, get back on the field and work hard each and every day with my teammates to bring a Grey Cup to the great fans here in Montreal.”

According to TMZ Sports, Sam said ... "I cannot wait to put on the pads, get back on the field and work hard each and every day with my teammates to bring a Grey Cup to the great fans here in Montreal."
Michael has also told TMZ Sports  he thinks the fact he's openly gay prevented him from getting a fair shake on an NFL roster.

The contract is scheduled to pay Sam $100,000 in 2015 – nearly double the CFL minimum of $51,000, and about the same as he’d make if he were on an NFL practice squad for the entire season. The option year is worth $150,000.
The Alouettes’ first preseason game is June 13. The 18-game regular season schedule begins at home against the Ottawa Redblacks on June 25 and concludes Nov. 8.
All we can say is Congratualtions, eh?  Now lets
hope that he proves all his haters and naysyers
wrong by putting up yards on the grid iron instead
of focusing on his sexuality...and his arse.

Speaking of the Billboard Music Awards, it opened with a video of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" and one of the many cameos in it is Chicago native and St Louis bred model Karlie Kloss.

The premise takes Swift’s Catastrophe on a mission of revenge after being double-crossed by a former pal and Swift’s squad – which included Kloss a boxer named Knockout ,was out in full force in the action-packed sci-fi-inspired music video.

American Idol season 10 alum Haley Reinhart has teamed up once more with Postmodern Jukebox for another interpretation of a '90s classic. Decked out in a pretty red dress, the Wheeling, Illinois, vocalist wraps her jazzy vocals around "Lovefool" by The Cardigans.
Reinhart -- who also recorded a torch-song rendition of Radiohead's "Creep" with Postmodern Jukebox -- recently joined the United Air Force Band of the Golden West on May 14 for the first night of their seven-day Southern California tour at the Valley Performing Arts Center, located on the California State University of Northridge campus. She will be making her voice-over debut portraying a boy named Bill on F Is for Family, a Netflix animated series produced by Vince Vaughn, Peter Billingsly and Michael Price.
The 24-year-old singer is preparing to release a new EP this summer and is currently on tour with Postmodern Jukebox until June 23.

According to reports, Two high-ranking NFL sources shot down a report Thursday that the NFL will announce the St. Louis Rams wIll be moving back to Los Angeles.
KTLA Channel 5 reporter Glen Walker said he received a text from “a reliable source” stating the NFL would be announcing the Rams’ return to Southern California in August.
Walker said he ran it past Inglewood mayor James Butts on Wednesday at the South Bay Medal of Valor luncheon. Walker said Butts replied: “You have a pretty good source.”
Mayor Butts emphatically denied saying that in a phone call to the L.A.News Group on Thursday night.
The story, reported on the KTLA Morning News, was immediately and emphatically dismissed by the two league sources.
The NFL is formulating a meeting for August in which all 32 owners will be updated again on the Rams’ stadium status in St. Louis and Inglewood, as well as the San Diego Chargers’ and Oakland Raiders’ stadium statuses in Carson, San Diego and Oakland.
In June, the Committee on Los Angeles Opportunities — consisting of owners Clark Hunt of Kansas City, Robert Kraft of New England, John Mara of the New York Giants, Bob McNair of Houston, Jerry Richardson of Carolina and Art Rooney of Pittsburgh — will convene in New York City for updates from all three teams.
As of now, the window to file for relocation opens Jan. 1, but the league is already preparing and advising teams and cities to be prepared for that window to move up, possibly closer to the end of the 2015 season.
Hmm, sounds like whoever those two sources were who text the reporter is trying to clean up their mess.....its so inevitable that the Rams is moving to L.A. and Rams owner Stan Kroenke is awaiting for the stadium in L.A. he bought to move them in. As far as the time frame,  August is three months away and theres no way the new Riverfront Stadium in St Louis will be finished if that was the case. January  2016 seem like a realistic scenario on whether The Rams will stay in St Louis or move back to Los Angeles whence they came from in 1994 to move to St Louis. Either way, it will be a new stadium that was built without the Rams housed in it.

ADD: The St Louis Cardinals are currently playing the Kansas City Royals, repeating the I-70 playoffs whom they played against last year for a spot in the World Series and lost.  The Royals welcome the rival St. Louis Cardinals to Kauffman Stadium this weekend for a showdown of two first-place clubs in Kansas City.
The three-game set will open tonite,  Friday night
Team Blue (Kansas City) and Team Red (St. Louis) head into this weekend with a combined record of 53-28, a collective winning percentage of .654, the best a Show-Me series has seen since it became an annual fixture in 1997.
Kansas City's The Pitch magazine reported this week that, as of Wednesday, the average cost for a ticket on the secondary market for the Royals-Cardinals series at Kauffman Stadium this weekend checked in at a hefty $124.10 -- 58 percent above the usual mark of $78.58. Friday night's average: $117.34 ($32 low as of late Thursday morning); Saturday: $129.72 ($42 low); Sunday: $124.90 ($27 low).

KMOV News anchor Sharon Reed  departed  the St Louis news station this week  to work at sister station WGCL in Atlanta.
Reed worked at KMOV since October 2012. Before that she worked at WOIO in Cleveland. The move was first speculated about by FTVlive in March.
“News 4 is hands down the best place I’ve ever worked,” said Reed in a goodbye on KMOV’s website. “Smart, engaging journalists, but most important to me, the good people who work here are my friends.”
KSDK news  reporter Elizabeth Matthews has left the station as well. From stltoday.com, Matthews said her husband is joining his family's construction business, "and most of our family is in the Chicago area."
Working in the Tulsa and Joplin markets before joining KSDK in 2012, Matthews said she was going to take a break from television work. "At some point, I'm sure I'll take a look around to see what's going on in Chicago TV.
Last week, both meteorologist Chester Lampkin and reporter Sara Dayley announced they also were leaving the station, with Lampkin heading to a New Zealand weather service and Dayley heading to work at a local fire district.
